    Default F20 Ratios

I may as well address this to Stu as he will provide the nuggets I need - but anyone else feel free to chip in...

I am aware that there are subtle differences in F20s, depending on car/year of manufacture etc, but I have now realised (following on from the Type R thread) that the ratios on teh saloon are just ghey!

Drove it up to Brum this morning and it was nice and quiet, so was checking the sat chav/RPM ratio - THE best way to do it!

In my van at 4k in 5th it reads 87mph

In the loon it reads 73mph!

    4500 on the loon (5th) is 82mph
    5000 rpm is 92mph

So it seems that they are F16-like ratios!?

Could explain why I struggled at higher speeds against that Civic...

I was going to add that tyres sizes will be an issue esp if you have a cav/calibra donated box which will have had Balloon's on the 15's. 205 55 15" iirc. Some 45's or whatever on a 15" will be a lot smaller in rolling radius. A problem I think I was having with my gearbox (F15) lastyear. It was just stupidly short geared.

Thought about this earlier while out in mine.

    Satnav/RPM : 4k = 80/81mph on 195/45/15

    I think i've got a 3.55 in mine
