With the one I got it can be put anywhere to be honest as it's a lock in itself and has something like 50,000 to 1 combination. Thing with a normal switch you could stick it in a 'hidden' place but it will either be a right pain to operate all the time as it's that hidden or it'll be a normal switch.

I got this as it's proper secure and I can stick it anywhere

Mind you by the time they even smash as window the alarm will be blaring and I'd be out the front door with a crowbar

The trouble with alarms though is that if it goes off and your not near the car you won't know its been got at.
Will the kill switch its a second line of defence at least..

I helped a bloke that invented an alarm that used to send a signal to a pager many years ago, so if you weren't near the car, say you were in the pub, your pager would go off...brilliant really.
Similar and more advanced systems are available nowadays.....

I wouldnt belive everything you read on the internet, Bet my Bonnet pin key will turn that.

I didnt belive it myself when i bought some new pins to replace old ones and the keys are identical and they where bought from differant places and year or so apart.

There universal keys these days with regards to motorsport

Yeah, that's a point, hence the killswitch. My alarm has that optional feature for the pager system will probably consider investing in one further down the line.

What would be cool is instead of a pager it contacts you mobile or something

The trick with the kill switch would be to wire it up but hide the wires going to it.

I have experienced that in the past with other stuff, got two different packs from different places and all the keys were able to unlock each other, pointless or what?.

Before I bought this one today I had a look at the other packs and tested the keys from the other pack with the one I picked and it didn't unlock (me being stealthy ). I then asked one of the lads there about getting 'extra' keys. He said I'd have to contact the manufacturer.

So that gave me some sort of indication as to how random they are.

I did consider fingerprint scanning kill switch but couldn't find one

Did bid for one last week (or was it the week before) and lost the auction. There was another which was on bid and had 4 days left but it ended early, looks like the auction was cancelled early

Getting closer but not quite there.

To be entirely honest, I'd want to get one and get it rebuilt myself/my mechanic. No disrespect to anyone.

I'd rather buy one under the average price and build it.

I'll find one soon, have a feeling. Have seen a couple engines for sale on ebay but they've for some reason ended early or have been reset. Something dodgey tbh.

ive found that on ebay people end them cause people offer them the right sort of average price so they end then the person who made the offer doesnt contact them.

Also if your looking for a bargain let i would trawl vauxhall forums as ebay people prob wont let them go for much under a grand
