Ian, can I have a bit of your old shell please?

Thought you got rid of that old shell!
Keep meaning to chop it up but it's come in quite useful at times.
Dizzycap will be replaced as it's just the one that came with the engine at the mo - hopefully a new red one will be brighter.
Paul I've PMd you
Paint it.

Didn't think there'd be any stones hitting there - will paint over that area when I do the rest of the arches.
Ok cool, i was thinking more to just protect it.

OK who's sick of me waffling about stonechip/underside? Me too, so cracked on today sorting it out once and for all
Tipped it over on it's side again:
Loads of tyres to spread the weight:
Chipped all the Hammerite off the top, the stuff flaked off with literally a brush of a screwdriver so would NEVER have lasted on the road. White stuff left on is the tinned stonechip I used - proper crap compared to the proper compressor stuff TBH:
Coated in POR15 paint - bit of a waste cos it's really meant for bare metal but hopefully it'll dry to leave a good protective coating anyway (if not I'll strip it off again ):
so thats what the black was on your hands
