BUT NO! What's happening?!? Mazz seems to have lost power - Lee sees his change and boots it -



DISIATER - Mazz's throttle cable (or summut) had broken!


Lee couldnt believe it! the second to last lap and he'd stolen victory!




Humiliation - FAILURE of an epic proportion! Mazz gets pushed back to the pits!




However - after the crowd had boo'd and thrown things at Lee, he showed the sporting way and offered to re run the final few laps to give Mazz a shot at the champions medal again.

Mazz opted for a "lesser" car - partly to give Lee a chance...and the race was back on!

Mazz stayed in the lead but Lee was closing fast -






Mazz flicked his back end out and on the next lap lee saw his chance and went for it - taking the lead -




continued (almost finished!)

...despite a valiant effors Mazz couldnt recover


and Lee romped home to victory celebrating in true sportsmanship style!


Mazz was obviously upset!


The winner however it was agreed was Mazz who despite losing the second race was the outright winenr of the 1st.

Good effort by all concerned!


Verdict...
I've never had so much fun in a weekend in a long time! I'd like to thank everyone who came to the event, everyone who helped do my brakes, got involved, showed face and generally helped make the 1st PNG anniversary meet a total success. It was a small gathering but perfect in every way. the banter, the support and the overall feeling that you were part of something really made it worth the 700 mile and 14 hour round trip!

I can't wait till next years event which might include some of the following -

Tug - o - war (providing someone remembers to bring a rope and not offer to use jump leads attached to nipples and scrotum sacks!)

Fatest pukka pie muncher

The "Loon A Que"

Club awards and custom trophies including best in show, post monkey, go karting champ, craziest golfer etc...

footy and much more!

Been following this thread all day Ade, Cracking work and some fantastic pictures and I can honestly say after the shambols that was Billing 06, I had vowed not to go to another Show unless acompanied by lots of mates, but that looks like it was a right laugh and seemed very friendly. I'll be attending next year for definate.

As some ones said already, it really is like re-living the entire weekend over again. Brilliant laught all weekend!
