Default Ades Drive V1.0 (1.3 SR touch up)

As you know my garage is full to the brim with my other rebuild (See Ades Garage - which needs updating) and not content with moving house and everything else I've got going on at the moment I thought I'd start another project - so welcome to Ades drive!

This project will be pretty straight forward and involves me tidying up my new baby - a 1988 Vauxhall Nova 1.3SR purchased a couple of weeks ago.

The car is pretty much standard - the only mods are a set of Belmont 14" wheels, a slightly different exhaust system and a set of sport style decals on the bonnet and boot.

The objective is to get as much as I can possibly do before the August bank holiday "posing" weekend.

    Here's my project list -

    Body Work
    replace front wings
replace upper slam panel and repair inner arch corners behind lights
replace rear arches and repair inner arches
    repair fuel filler area
replace vynal inc b pillar and possible hatch vynal with "new" ( * )
repair rust spot behind rear bumper and reseal rear panel
clean up and chassis black the entire underside
    waxoyl all panels
replace mk1 bump strips with new ones (if possible) ( * )
clean up overspray on front bumper
    colour code mirror covers
replace windscreen with new spare one
replace rear light units (there's a crack in one)
    paint all replacement panels
    remove the red strip
    remove the sport style stripes

    Engine and bay area
clean up engine bay paint work - derust, reseal and respray
clean up engine - degunk and tidy up
    clean up fluid tanks
fit weber 32/34 dmtl carb and get engine tuned

    Brakes, suspension and steering
    replace 1.3 SR brakes with GTE/GSi units including servo/master cylinder ( * )
    fit new discs and pads
    replace track rod ends ( * )
replace bushes with poly units all round ( * )
replace bearings front and rear (there's hum from the left side when cornering and doing 40mph) ( * )
tidy up hubs and suspension components

    Interior
Clean interior thoroughlyfix drivers seat bolster ( * ) - need a bit of material of similar style velour
clean up oil/dirt patches on head lining and door cards
fix dash clocks (speedo's a bit off)
replace gear stick gaiter rubber (it's split) ( * )

    General
Give the car a ruddy good wash and polish
    Do a full service
refurbish original set of SR wheels and get new rubber.

As always I'll post up pics as I complete each section.

I'm also after parts so check out the wanted section to see if you can help me out - items with a star ( * ) above denote the bits I need...

saw the pictures on the other thread and looks good. I'm going to be needing a full set of SR vynal for mine as well so will be interesting to see how you get on with it.

    Did you get it local?

excellent! I think if you can get the templates made up and someone to produce half decent replicas, there'll be a bit of money to be made here!
