Do HID's look good on a Nova? Are they going to work ok as i have been
told that nova's cant handle them?
Or is there any other headlights that look as good as HID's?

been loads off thread about these's lol
simply answer is no f lol
haha
thye just scatter the beam every were bar the road f lol
Thats true! There anything similar to there brightness tho?
i got off road use bulbs in my cav and there bright (cav lights are just as bad as nova ones f lol )
You'll struggle to reach >2000 lumens with a halogen.
Best mony-no-object bulbs would be PIAA Xtreme Force, but they're officially discontinued now - next best thing would be Xtreme White Plus. But thats only if you got about £60 burning a hole in your pocket.
Otherwise, try Osram Nightbreakers, Philips Bluevision or even Halfords Ultra.
HIDs, IMO, don't work in a Nova lens as said due to the beam pattern so best avoided.
But yes they look awesome. Proper clean light.
Not when they're burning the retinas of oncoming cars they won't lol
Here let me explain lol lol lol

I know that's why i took mine off.. But they do give a nice clean light.. ;)
lol lights the road up tho.. hahaha
i personaly think they look good my mate has them in his saloon nova and they light the road up fine hes a member on here if you wanna ask him for a picture for you his png name is sneakycorsa
Just use them HID bulbs, brought some off ebay for something daft like £10 delivered, massive improvement over standard bulbs
i currently run hid's i think they can be done if you set them up correctly ie have them pointing to the left and far down. i dont get flashed EVER anymore now there set up correctly. up to you really i think there good and as i do alot of night driving they really do light up the deers eyes and are great for b roads....
heres a pic

That pic doesnt really give any info though, you need a pic pointing at flat surface such as a wall from a few metres back to show the beam pattern. Preferably also with halogens too for comparison.
if someone can get a halogen bulb test on a wall i can get a hid one
The topic of HID's is totally debatable, best thing to do is buy a set (not exactly expensive now-a-days) fit them and set them up see what results you get. I have a feeling I will have no problems using them. I will get some pics up when everything has been sorted (don't hold your breath).
heres mine on my wall:

Are your headlamp units original GM ones or have they been replaced with non-GM like Lucas etc?
Mine? I think there gm, will check in a min tho.
Reason I ask is that I've replaced Nova headlamps before with brand new Lucas ones (in this case) and compared them (one side Lucas one side standard) and have found the standard ones have a better light beam pattern, more defined less scatter even with standard halogen H4's fitted. Found the same with Cavalier headlamps too. OE GM ones are better defined.
Maybe go down to a garage and get the headlamps put on the beam test and get them adjusted as much as poss see if it makes any difference.
^^ agree on the cav lights
^ Shame finding them new (lens or unit) is a funking mission!
i know fella plenty in scrappys by me but all facelight type grrrr
Actually after a facelift type lol (bro's Cav) All the ones I've found are cheap pattern ones.
hid are ilegal anyhow an the pig up heer love tae do people for HIDS
^^^ they fail mot straight away
only aloud if they come from factory
Not an MOT fail - mine pass fine.
or its on the new rules for mot or somthing lol
The rules say if there's headlamp levellers or washers present, they have to work. If they're not present, its not a fail.
In terms of the MOT, so long as the systems that are present work and the beam pattern is Ok, HIDs will pass.
I take mine out for the mot just in case they do fail but they would probably pass anyway, my boss would probably fail everything he could, think hes worried that letting things go would look very bad especially when my car parks outside every day haha, but as jack says, The rules say if there's headlamp levellers or washers present, they have to work. If they're not present, its not a fail.
well heer in ayr if ure seen to have them in your car you get a ticket regardless unless its got tht headlight leveling washers an that or from factory
I've been led to believe if HID's are fitted to a car (aftermarket), unless there is headlamp washers fitted as well, they will fail. Thats the way my message from VOSA read anyhow lol
Your better off buying 1000000 candle watt torches and fitting them to the roof of your car than wiring up HIDs to a Nova.
