That goes straight into the battery tray:confused:
thats what i was thinking, im not putting the battery in the boot just yet so might be a problem
Maybe I got it wrong, but i'm sure i've seen other people route their loom there, or there somewhere!
the total vauxhall guide says to do it there to, i will have a look tomorow and see if it can be done
Its just looks neater than round the turret though
if you cut a hole there your going to have to cut another big hole through to the cabin, not good imo
the hole drilled into the cabin will be sealed with the big rubber gromet attached to the xe's engine loom, same as the standard nova engine loom
Yep I agree, the loom always looks much neater where mazz has indicated.
If theres already a hole in the battery tray area for the ecu wiring just weld a plate over it.
Get a hole cutter and go through here

Loads neater
aint that the back of where the brake pedal is?
In that area yes, but if you have a look where that plate is from inside the car you'll see that there is loads of room
i will have a look tomorow, i think its a mix between being out in the garage alot and my boiler being on the blink but ive got a case of 'man flu' right now lol
so im just writing up a list of bits and bobs that i need to buy right now
not a propper update but got some bits in the post for it today
some new pads and discs, didnt buy any fancy pads just yet as i want to learn the cars limits first

im lookign about right now for a throttle cable anyone where some go cheap?
I'm sure spud used a corsa b 1.2 16v cable, have a looksee in his wip
Yeah he did. To Looms!!
looks good mr tj good work i like :)
there is a couple 1200 16v corsa up there aswell, cheers
Get me one while you're there bruh
will do, you still got the big looped throttle cable on yours?
Any inside pics? I wanna move mine to there.
In the pic a few pages back, doing the hole thru the fire wall there you'll fit the battery clamp, plus the battrey is right in the way. I did it there and wish i hadn't. Gonna move mine i think.
The tb cable fed around the way is way better and much tidier, did mine years ago and have been telling people too since.
would be nice to keep it as neat as possible, the std wiring running down the nearside is already phising me off just sitting there looking untidy
Std anything isn't that tidy, because it's made for ease and to be quick. Even thru right on the battery clamp isn't that tidy, i hate mine being there now...
i really like the wire tucked engine bays with all the tanks etc hidden, but i think all that work would be pointless on this build, i just want to get it back on the road! lol
Looking good TJ, it's about time some serious progress has been made!! Glad you got her back. Shall we be seeing this at Billing this year??
when is billing ? might show my face,
im happy with how its coming along, its nothing special but should be a laugh when finished
I have no idea at the moment mate, waiting for the thread to appear with the dates on it. I have an XE to source and fit with all the extras etc by Billing, ready to take the nova. However, seeing as I didn't get the job I went for last week... That's become slightly more difficult now
there is a possibility of me losing my job soon, so if that happens all progress with the nova will more then likely stop until i fond another job
i really need to pull my finger out tbh i haven't touched it in the last 2 days, because I'm being a big girl with a cold lol
all i want to do is bolt it back together now and fooking abuse the hell out of it!!!!
and when something brakes i will change/improve it then give it some more abuse, i will more then likely lose my licence in this car lol
been out and bought more goodies

hopefully i never have to use this, but if itsd needed it there!

(only 12 odd quid from toolstation, rallydesigns really over charge for these imo)
I spy a ford key yay
yer dont get excited its just a 1.3 mk6 fiesta lol
I like those fiestas and use that style key on my van
car annoys me the key fob wont work, i changed the battery and tryed remrograming it but it still dont work, its only done 70k and all the trim is falling off lol had to replace the two door pillar trims and that cost 50 quid from ford!! 50 quid for 2 flat bits of pastic with some clips, rip off feckers
right so i've removed the inlet and loom

(hopefully i remember how it goes back on lol)
also removed the starter loom from that

now hopefully ive understood this right? i now have to use these wires from the novas loom for the alternator and starter

ICV idel control valve fella :thumb:

coil amp and bolts on with coil :thumb:
The wires or the alternator are blue with white stripe, the blue with green goes to oil pressure switch, red and blak go to starter. Thick red also goes to starter, and that should then go to alternator,
The water pipe from
The aide of the head should go to one of the heater matrix pipes.
The valve ypu found at the back is the idle controle valve, this is piped up to the inlet and should have a plug on the xe loome for it, similar to the knock sensor plug, also same position.
The last pic is the module for your coil. Its needed, original 1 was probably attatched underneath the old coil
