Not really an update,it is slightly broken again  went out to the garage & moved it for the first time in a while to discover i only have 3rd & reverse gear? Moved the little rod on the linkage,i now have all gears apart from 5th.something has obviously came loose, fecking thing can even break when not getting used lollol
Is the rubber bush perished ?
Just read from page 1 mate, what a transformation, respect for doing that.. also love how you've kept it all original. Hopefully i'll see it in the flesh sometime as I'm from Irvine. ;)
Took the nova out of its hibernation to move something in the garage,it sat outside for two hours & got covered in bird sh!t.so i thought i would give it a polish after washing it so took a couple of pics before putting it back in,there are still some issues needing fixed so march/apr time i will be fitting some better boot vinyl, ashley exhaust -if my classic policy allows it & toying with the idea of taking the alloys off & putting steel wheels & gte wheel trims on it.thoughts & opinions welcome

Beautiful...
Had to read this again just to remind myself there will be a flame red light at the end of the tunnel lol
I gave your mate a phone about doing my shell, havent heard back though.
I had around 18 months of gathering parts, panels etc.
At least most of your car was there to start with,i was missing most of mine lol that should give most people hope with a project when you see the shed i started with.
Getting it to Scottish Nova meefs next year mate?
+Rep Raf24, just spent an hour reading the 30 page rebuild congrats on a great and ultra fast build , hope to see itat a Scottish show next year!
I really should take a leaf out of your book mate, mine is still sitting in the same spot with nothing done to it yet lol
Yes i am definitely going to a few shows this year,i only did a couple of locals this year(kames at muirkirk & dean park in kilmarnock) which i will be at again but may go to others.
Thanks for the comments david & pauly.
Bazil-are you talking about your red gte or your black gsi? lol
Aye hes got the red GTE in need of rebuild, the silver GSI in need of rebuild and the black GSI which is in stunning condition.
Be nice to see all of them back on the road, probably be a few quid for that to happen i'd imagine though.
To be fair he has most of the panels to rebuild them.
Yeah I've got 2 scrap shells, one minted full car and a frightening load of bits lol
I was refering to my GTE though as it would look the carbon copy of your lol. As Sport says I'm almost at the end of the collecting parts bit then the fun starts.
I hope you make it to some of our wee drives.
Earlier this year we had a few, Oban was fun, Dunnoon was a good day out too.
lucky boy having three to play with ;) im going to make a point of meeting everybody i can and try and show up to a few shows etc.last summer was a washout & had a few teething problems with the nova but hopefully make up for it next year.
Cool, your more than welcome to pop over to mine if I'm working on one of my scrapers lol that's how most of the meets happen round my way lol
Went out to the garage as i'm taxing it next week & want to start using it again so was checking it over & was greeted by this bit of trim hanging off the door, not a huge problem as i have spare surrounds anyway but is there any way of securing it better than those little metal clips? Sorry for the crap pics i couldnt move it as the battery was flat

Took a pic after it broke down & i was bored waiting for the AA,was shiitting myself at all the the traffic flying past and decided the nova was not a safe place to be so bravely buggered off into a field lol

what caused it to brake down dude
Turns out it had melted the fuel pump fuse mate,AA guy said it was far too small an ampage (7.5a) which does seem a bit light to me for an electric pump,i've got a 10 amp fuse in it at the minute but if anybody could tell me what the correct size is that would be great,i also noticed i now have no battery, handbrake etc warning lights so if anybody can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated :thumb:
These are the two problems i had yesterday.

The spade connector on the live feed was dodgy as well, just wondered if there was a better way to put it onto the pump? Its taped up for now but dont want to half arrse it would rather do it right, any suggestions?
You checked the other fuses? As one does the instruments iirc
Is the plastic track on the back of the clocks OK? As that can cause problems if it's cracked
Wish this weather would fcuk off,it is now covered in salt as the pics show, not good :(

Re: fuel pump wiring - get the rubber grommets that go over the wires and fit over the pump connection. Iirc fuel pump fuel is 20amp
Your nuts! Keep it away from the nasty stuff . Its easy to get salt on than to clean it off. Mine wont see the road until the rain clears it away! It might be June at this rate lol.
