Jeff....... Yes the injectors were tested and cleaned however two are not working now. They were perfectly fine before so its either the process they've been through or possibly damaged in the post. I guess thats what you get for trying to fix what wasnt broken! I'll do my best to get some miles in before the billing trip but it all does depend on when I get the car back. As said theirs not that much to do now just setting up and a few other odds/ends so fingers crossed it wont be long as I have things on my side to do also.
Edd..... cheers!
Stu...... Thanks!
Farmer John...... Cheers!
Scott........ cheers! In a way thats what all the grey is about as I wanted an understated factory look this time round and in my opinion is suits the car perfectly.
Tony...... Cheers and you have pm mate.
Si..... You know you want another!
Iain.... Thanks again mate! :)

Nick will you be at Billing on the Sunday as it's the only day I'll be there this year?
From my point of view they are two entirely different cars to be honest as with this one Ive tried to achieve the exact opposite off what I did with the red one. Yeah I'll be at billing all weekend even if the car isnt ready on time me and the missus will still go so feel free to come and say hello mate :)Quote:

Nick.
If the cars not ready, tow it with mini.
Mini doesnt have a tow bar and would look pretty gay with one tbh! lolQuote:

Small update time then guys........
Unfortunatly not a great deal of work has got done on the nova this week. New injectors turned up and were fitted which did sort the issue it had. Car now runs fine and most of the work is done. The wideband gauge just need wiring up to the sensor which is already in place so they can look at what information its showing etc. Apart from that the linkage also needs setting up but that shouldnt cause any bother. I dropped by after work friday and fitted the front bumper, headlights and grill then placed the new tax disc in the window so when they test drive which will be pretty soon its all legal to do so etc. Few pics of how it now stands........

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...bowip198-1.jpg
I also got a quick shot to show how subtle the box looks in position. (Note fresh new earth strap too!)........
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...bowip199-1.jpg
Apart from the above I havent done much as Im waiting on the cars return. I did however paint a few more bits.......
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...bowip195-1.jpg
My other rocker cover had cracked its paint around the bolt holes which was strange as with the way I prep that doesnt usually happen but Im pretty sure I painted the previous one twice which means their was probably double the amount of material on their than they should have been which is why it may have happened. Either way the above one was stripped to the bare bones and only painted once so fingers crossed it wont happen this time! As for the chassis info tag you could hardly make out the lettering due to also having too much paint on. Again this was fixed by stripping all the paint off and starting a fresh. You cant make it out very well from this picture but you can actually read it now! lol

Lastly it was noticed my bottom pulley was wobbling around a bit more than it should so I ordered a new billet one to sort this. I also got in touch with beardy for some of his phase two chips as a back up plan. Just in case the map shows to be poor and I have no time to source anything else before billing etc. Keith has ran them without issues for some time now so they seem a safe bet. If my current ones turn out to be ok however I can always just sell them on. ........

Hopefully I will have the car home this week and I can set to on the hell of a cleanup it needs. I doubt Ill get chance to do everything Id like to but winter will soon be here again and I can go about making it even better for 2012. (How sad does that sound wishing the year away!) cheers for reading! :)
Nick.
your work is pure class.....................
Have faith Nick! It'll make it! And if your chipset is fine I've a buyer for your spares ;-)
Keith
Your coil lead is very short, why is that? Everything looks fantastic, nice work.
The coil lead is really short in some donors and longer in others, Astra 2's are mounted on the inner wing like a Nova, Cav Calibra are bit closer under the battery tray, dont know about Astra 3's.Quote:

Looks great, what needs to be done before you can drive it/take it home?
looks mint mate, great attention to detail..
Cheers Paul, Im glad you answered that as I didnt know! If it was any tighter Id have just moved the coil across within the bracket etc.Quote:

Keith.... Its tight but hopefully we'll make it. I'll let you know when it comes to the chips etc.
Benn... cheers dude. Wideband wiring in,new pulley on,linkage setting, just odds and ends really. Once wideband is in and they have the necessary info they can alter/set things up to suit etc.
Longdog Charlie.... Thanks fella yours is looking cracking also!
Iain and gte87........ cheers guys! :)
Nick.
As stunning as ever.
Hope to see this at Billing

Hi Guys,
Onto an update then.............
All the smaller jobs were finished up earlier on last week so they could set the car up using the wideband and test drive to check all was well. Once they were happy I collected the car friday afternoon and brought it home. On saturday I took it out and got a few miles in which was awesome. Obviously I cant drive it too hard at the moment but I have been told I must work the engine to run it in properly etc. It runs/boosts very well so I am uber happy with it! Their is a little bit of lifter noise which Im hoping will settle down but If it doesnt then I'll order a set of genuine jobbies from autovaux. Also Ive been advised to get the front suspension all set up and aligned properly as my builders have said it will get the power down and handle much better than it currently does. Another good thing to note though is the equal length setup as the car doesnt want to pull you into the nearest field under boost like it used to! Ive got to get approx a hundred miles in then take the car back so it can be checked over to make sure all is well. Hopefully I'll manage that on a few trips out this coming week. Then its also got to go for an mot so we'll see how things progress. If all goes well and I get everything finished then I will use it for billing but If I have order more parts and things dont go to plan then I may have to leave billing until next year. Anyhow some pics are below.........

Great news Nick! Hope you can make Billing with it!
stunning Nick, glad it's all nearly done now :thumb:
pm sent aswell :)
Car looks happy to be home. Get some miles on it, if the weathers good and get it to billing:thumb:
Looks great Nick :)
Not sure on the panel youve made for the gauges mind, a lad with your skills could mock up a nice custom steering wheel shroud to house them.
That would look much better imo
It's looking stunning buddy its a credit to all your hard work and skill
Epic !
