You've had fun building it tho. Looking at the brightside!
I loved every minute of building it and i have no doubt in my mind that i will be back on it once i'm settled again.
I wish who ever gets any of the bits the best with them and i hope they realise their full potential. Especially who ever gets the shell as so much of my time and effort has gone in to that it nearly brings me to tears thinking about parting with it - queue small violin
sorry to hear the news fella but if needs must.As said its a shame you didnt get to try it on track.
Chris.
fantastic build, fantastic person with great detail and advice on aspects of the build.
well done on what you have achieved and sorry you have had to let the project go.
good luck with the future and the benefits of the cash got.
pm a price on the brake lines please.
sorry to hear this this James, I was looking forward to seeing this on a track after all the hard work.
Would it not be possible to sell off the shiny bits and keep hold of the shell to build back up again later on?
I think it's the fact he wont have no ware to keep it, and he needs the cash tied in it to buy new house in the move.Quote:

and you didn't even ever get to use it! :(
Indeed Mr Oliver but i'm sure you of all people are aware how circumstances change some times for good and some times for bad in this circumstance as is often the case its a bit of both and unfortunately the bad is the loss of the nova :(Quote:

Mate, am really sorry to hear about this - you know I can symathise with this predicament (its how you managed to get parts me from me).
Real shame, I shall this project using the most purchases from my Nova and was really looking forward to the finished article.
Best of luck with the sale.
Question people....shall i finish this?
Yes
yes you should finish it :thumb:
if your situation has changed to allow you to then hell yes
Well there would be certain restraints ie cost for one. I have recovered enough funds from the bits i've sold to see the house savings fund well on its way and i can see myself ever selling the shell for half what i want so i thought i could just do a major budget finish on it and see were it goes from there.
Would it still be wide arch etc? Seeing as its all done anyway?
Hope you can afford to finish it, even if you decide you dont want to keep/cant keep then it will be easyer to sell complete.
Good luck.
Yes the shell and the custom wide suspension will all stay, i just can't go silly with the other bits
Yes definatley. Look at Dans. Not a mega spec engine but with the right suspension/brakes.
Use standard boot/bonnet/ doors just stripped of all un-nesecary metal.
yes yes yes finish it
I had thought all that Ste which is why the 'bad thoughts' have re entered my head really.
I still have my doors so would only need a boot, bonnet, seat, sus, and an engine/exhaust and i'm away!
dans is a standard engine is it not?
If you can now rebuild or carry on then yes, there is no rush to do it, you could have it as an ongoing project, something to potter about on, it doesnt matter whether it takes you a month or two years if its what you want to do deep down, and plus the fact youve reconsidered it means deep down you know you want to finish it:thumb:
+1 spud, i find a uber long slow project is better than a 1day project imo.
Will be good to see it finished, Hope you can afford it :)
Finish it :thumb: Fast spooling C20LET by stealing bits from work ftw lol
Edit: just seen your thread on small blocks turbos, much the same idea as me minus the wide track stuff :d
i thought you were selling all your stuff:confused:Quote:

i have now sold that car and moved on. i have done it on a budget and as such, i have sourced the right parts and the right price i was WILLING to pay.
as such, it has taken me over a year to get all my suspension and brakes together but i got it and its now done.
do the same, buy what you need when you see it. dont let yourself struggle.
i'd sell my car again in a second if it ment me losing my house. some things are just more important, but we also have to have our fun and pleasures but at a sacrifice.
Yes finish it. Sure i can help with parts as your down this way...
Well i have been doing some really hard thinking and i would love to finish this.
The question is what engine shall i put in it?
Like Dan, a simple xe with a few lil bits if/when you can afford them?
Yeah Finish it James! Std xe!
small block FTW
rob a turbo from work :d
