Same problem for me, that’s why I’ve got the stands.

Today was a bits and pieces day, getting stuff ready for exhaust Monday.
I'd been told that fibreglass bonnets lift in the middle and are prone to cracking, didn't fancy this, I'll take the extra weight over not getting the bloody thing painted every 5 minutes

Ben was hatching a plan, he was walking around the workshop scratching his head, picking up bits of material, looking at it, then putting it back, he decided on this

Then he fired up the mill and an hour later had produced this, to say I was impressed would be an understatement, his skills are next level

I turned up the little end plugs on the lathe, they were Tig welded in and then tidied on the mill

A second one soon followed and the fuel cradle system is now complete.
I was busy bolting wheels on and we dropped the shell onto it's wheels for the first time since March 2017!!

It's on some box section rear shocks as we didn't have any in stock, the fronts are just some spares that were in stock
On the trailer Monday and off to the exhaust guy to work his magic.
Shell safely dropped at the exhaust place today. Game on, will be ready by 18/12 and down to see the man that knows hose on 19/12.
Looks ace on all fours
Love it! That mans work is ace!
Collected from Edwards Motorsport after Mike pulled out all the stops and worked over the weekend to get it done for me, as some personal stuff meant our original collection date no longer worked for me.
His skills are next level.

Another job crossed off.
Mock up began immediately that I got the car back to Bens place as it's being dropped off for all the plumbing to be done Thursday morning

The exhaust looks superb, every bit as good as my Simpson one.
Mocked up and ready for Mitch.
Will be dropping it off tonight

We've decided on ProGold fittings and Kevlar over-braid hose. I decided on black fittings with gold ferrules.
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5dd73b0b0f.jpg
are those bmrs fittings?
Colin those are what my car is done in. Not horrendously expensive and great quality. Most importantly from your perspective they and the hose are as light as a feather.
I used Mitch are ProLine Motorsport and recommended him to House, his work is as good as it gets.
All fittings are swaged, I’ll email you some pics it’s impossible to upload them here.
House,
i haven’t had time to trawl way back into your build thread, so apologies if you’ve already covered this.
Are you using Ben’s rose jointed front suspension kit? And if so do you have any photos of it fitted, especially in relation to gearbox clearance (ideally when the car was SCCR, not sequential).
Thanks.
Colin
Colin, myself and House fitted those kits at the same time. If there's anything inparticular my cars on axle stands currently (what's new) so could get clearance measurements/photos against an F20.
What Iain said!!! He'll hook you up with any pics mate.
I don't remember there being anything of concern with the suspension kit clearing boxes and such.
Aside from adding loads of castor puts the front wheel onto and rubbing the front wing!!! Craig had to cut his front wings out to give clearance!!
You will only need the arms Colin. Tie Rods will need to be suited to your cross member and brackets may as well be too.
I have a surplus pair of brackets and tie rods if for any reason you need them.
Mine are Ben's arms but the rest is all fabricated to suit my car. I run a lot of caster and my cross member isn't in the original position. Gearbox doesn't come near the tie bars on mine and yours is small block so should be loads of room.
I have an extra brace under my front end, that's the only thing you will struggle with for clearance.
Lovely.
Was lucky enough to see the car in person today :)
Nice, very nice.
very nice!
what alternator are you running?
edit: do you have more info on the brake switch you use?
it looks like to be an very small pressure switch?
Yes, they come with a single V pulley as standard. I swapped that for a 4 groove alloy pulley from Brise, as well as a Titanium retaining nut. Total weight of the alternator is about 2.5kg.
Great way to save weight and space, but shop carefully, you definitely are better off with a genuine Nippon Denso item. There are huge numbers of aftermarket copies, and they just aren't of the same quality.
I can give anyone the part number if they want to get one.
In a few twists and turns, using the unit as storage only now, not happy with security for the car down there.
So
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0d5aab6dfa.jpg
25mm on the walls
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...cfd10c9025.jpg
75mm on the floor
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9813387e53.jpg
Flooring tiles down, not the best brand but they're good enough
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...03534ee669.jpg
Shelving over the toolbox
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...82761ce888.jpg
25mm up inside the roof too

With the car hard over I can get a metre on the opposite side, the doors will be removable so I just need to figure a way of moving it easily on the rally stands

Plenty of work space up in front too
Got the tool box back in there today, using the roof-space as storage, plenty of space up there.
I've got an air conditioner/air source heat pump coming, I can get it to stay at around 12 degrees with a small oil filled rad whilst it's been 1-2 degrees outside.
