I love a waffle, get some syrup and ice cream on it and that’s perfection!
I'll have a look, cheers
Few bits sorted today. Lots of little jobs but they all add up together
Switch panel box all mounted up, with fire extinguisher pull and the bottom one will be heated adjuster

And heater return
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ba26e65e73.jpg
Dash 2 mounted, with the quaife gear indicator in a good position too
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e59be2b9c9.jpg
Cold air feed for the blower is fed from inside the passenger chassis leg, holes to the engine bay and outside sealed up, not perfect but the best solution we could think of

One side of the screen blower complete, passenger side tomorrow.

Sick.
Another good day up with Ben today
I started off on the mill, while Ben made some slugs to mount the fuel cradle onto.
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5146c0c0e1.jpg
Mocked up in the car for bracket manufacture
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c0fd0219ea.jpg
Picture looks squiffy but they’re straight enough in person
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9af7e3a6c4.jpg
Next up
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0725c099f0.jpg
So this is for a Corsa B, which meant the roof bend wasn’t perfect for what we needed, only one solution, choppy choppy
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...97567dacf8.jpg
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0a25115c2e.jpg
Fit is much better, out with the drill, whilst I was happy using the mill, this needed Ben’s steady hand!!
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ab6d3419a5.jpg
Big roof hole
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...abbd899226.jpg
Played around with some door handles, maybe not the final version but something like this
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...af44c0d07c.jpg
Tempted to mill the centre out completely, now I just need to get the fibre glass doors cut out with the die grinder for the handles and locks
Boot lid next, ditched the hinges as we couldn’t find any hinges in stock to bolt to the boot lid and even with the hinges on you still have to cut the ones on the car off and re-weld them in a different position, see Iain’s thread, even after doing all that it’s still not possible to open the boot lid all the way and even then there’s no stay to keep it open. Therefore, Boom removable boot.

So the jobs are really getting a line through them fast, we are hoping that by Friday next week 98% of the work will be done and we can get it off to the exhaust place for them to do their thing, then it’s booked in for the plumbing to be done first week of Jan, hoping to see it in paint by first week of Feb.
I also learnt that you should never drink and order tools
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...32310d671b.jpg
Boot is way better like that than hinged. Great progress as ever.
Any chance of a bit more detail on the fixings for the tailgate please?
Mine is hinged, was no messing about at all. You will be furious when you take it off and stand on it, or the wind blows it over!
Pit king fixings by the looks of it . They are good
https://www.demon-tweeks.com/pitking...E&gclsrc=aw.ds
Turn the g.r.p. ring over under the roof vent scoop , it is meant to stick up to stop water going down the hole , drill small hole in the back of the scoop to let water out , unless in the rain inner duct will get full of water , and your going to get wet!
Were till you started this build.
Little bit more progress today
Drilled and fitted the carbon rear panels
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...66a4d74b03.jpg
Same process for the doors
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3ae23782a4.jpg
Then the fun began, trying to translate all the holes in the steel doors to the fibreglass ones, managed a reasonable job
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...027d698137.jpg
Internal handle fitted aswell
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...838901a28b.jpg
External handle was a little harder, but it'll do
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e2478dd5e8.jpg
And the nearly finished product, just the hinges and mirror holes to sort.
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...cfb9813de1.jpg
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...df66584f71.jpg
Oh and we tried these bits and made them all fit nicely
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...781ace0e3b.jpg
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...52f46c1e20.jpg
This is looking really nice now. Some great details and love the look of the front end
Wrong front wings
The door hinges are the tricky bit on composite doors. Good luck with it, I will watch with interest.
Started today with a bit of bumper fixing

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...45ed7825b0.jpg
Holds the lower valence perfectly and is just the right height for a shin buster!!
Alternator cutout

Then alternator tensioner and I made the alloy spacer for the bottom bolt.
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b21e3e21b2.jpg
The bolt is temporary before anyone questions it

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...39635a7790.jpg
Next we turned out attention to the external crank sensor, well, I stayed out the way and Ben played around with the mill to create this
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6d8ed72156.jpg
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...59eb2b1246.jpg

Bolted through the wall of the sump, will be loctited and then the bolt head lockwired together. It won't go anywhere and the bolts will be safe.
Picked up where we left off yesterday
Cleaned the alternator cutout back to allow the alternator to fall all the way forward, easier to install
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...27f0fa0e16.jpg
I turned up some little spacers for the boot fixings
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...41a4c464d5.jpg
Meanwhile Ben was making something
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e8014b2340.jpg
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0439309e9c.jpg
All in an effort to get this
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e576913558.jpg
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9091f776bb.jpg
Which allowed this

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a2e8cc8600.jpg
The tubes put in for measuring, they will be flush with the outside when finished

They don't look too bad
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d2af42ab59.jpg
Meanwhile in a dark corner of the workshop it was turning

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...494237b317.jpg

Coil on plug done!!
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4fba9914d5.jpg
More tomorrow!!
Loving the daily updates. All this lathe and milling is making me want to get my wallet out, I just don't have space.
Nick
Not too much today, Ben finished the rally stands, they look proper!!
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...891a76aa4f.jpg
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9f4d6672d7.jpg
Plenty of room for skinny old me to fit under
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b3bcfa0264.jpg
Whilst Ben was cracking on, I looked at a wheel speed sensor, I turned up a little stud, that will be held in with resin on the finished CV, then set about making a bracket to hold the sensor, bit of jiggery pokery
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3e151e6dbf.jpg
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d9319133bd.jpg
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2f22001f43.jpg
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3fa7a1b7e7.jpg
Oh and we threw the headlights on to see how it would all look. Reasonably happy with it
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4a16315ace.jpg
The big job list is complete and we're onto a few smaller fiddly jobs now.
Fingers crossed off for exhaust manufacture next week, we'll see if it can be fitted in.
I now need a set of rally stands... lol
