Finally I have it running right :)
The large AFM was the problem
Did a mega bodge to fit the small correct AFM lol

Will sort it out so it looks as good as the one ive taken off
It now drives spot on, pulls from low revs info 4th and 5th, altogether much smoother
Did 40 miles today :) runs cool even in this heat which is pleasing as well

Nice one, what was the old AFM off?
It came with one of my Irmscher kits, I checked the part number and it came up with 18E engine, I guess the small AFM that comes with the kit originally is specific to the kit only

I'd like to see filming in action on this little beastie, cable tie your phone to the grill to get full appreciate of the 40's though lol

Who says you can't use carbs with a turbo?
R5Gtt springs to mind, I'm guessing there are 40's out there that can be turbo'd would be good.
/\ agreed looked into this a bit a while ago and a couple of cars had carbs and turbos but its a fair amount of work to get the carbs to keep enough vacuum and fuel to keep the turbo going etc so it can be done just alot of work lol
Jenvey do a plenum for throttle bodies to convert them to a turbo application, they are shown in last months Total Vauxhall.

My mate who's doing the work has been painting cars since we left school nearly 20 years so should be OK mate, he's done all my previous Nova's and both my astra's

Corsa b servo conversion/relocate battery to rear passenger footwell
Sort the ride height out, I have got some FK spring mounts for the front which lowers by 15mm, rear either rear weld the stub axle plates 20mm higher or different spring
Wire in heated front screen
Fit immobilizer
Fit new lock set as I have now adapted the saloon boot lock to work on hatch tailgate
Possibly get my other tailgate painted and fit Zender rear spoiler
If I have time after that lot lol I will start fitting the turbo set up as I only need a intercooler and a turbo rebuild for it now

Small update
My mate let me down on the bodywork as he has just had a customer wanting a VW splity camper van wanting a full restoration with money no object so I understand as he was doing mine for next to nothing profit wise
Got this through today, corsa B battery tray, £9 so happy, going to mount it on the floor behind the passenger seat

Been doing some work on the EPAS set up today, hopefully get it fitted this weekend as I'm happy with it now, update on that soon

This car kind of reminds me of the South African Citi Golf. It's retro but looks brand new and has loads of ace mod cons. I'm surprised it doesn't have ABS and air con somehow grafted in. It's simply superb!

Seriously considering a corsa B servo conversion due to wanting to free up space in engine bay for AFPR, oil catch tank and vacuum manifold when I fit the turbo stuff
BUT if you were me would you really want to cut a hole in a MINT battery tray for the servo conversion?
No. Can you not find other places to hide the bits?
I could but it's going to start looking messy I reckon, pipes going everywhere etc
Plus that crap brake linkage bar thing behind the dash is a shocking design, I bet corsa A LHD brakes are awesome due to not having that bar
