So to follow on from the page before pics, Ive been busy today, got lots to do tomo and upto and over the weekend, lots of parts to order too..
So i got the lambda port section and after talking to my mate at work we decided the best option was to not put the section in but just chop and fit the port into the manifold down pipe.
Before.

After.
http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/397...re713small.jpg
Fitted into manifold.

http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/3...re716small.jpg
Next steps, paint it all, heat wrap it, then get the system and all on car, and modify and fit center section with new box.
Scott
Nice work on the lambda :)
Cheers dude. :thumb:Quote:

Ive bought some Opel blitz center badges, so im thinking on the track car with track tires? or street tires??
http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/9...o0383small.jpg
Should tie in well with my future plans for my theme.
The car's left in the air till i fit new system on it.

Scott
Liking the wheels, should look funky & different.
aye, they scream track wheels but ide prob have them on all the time lol
Right so I'll start with some of my recent purchases first, i ordered these of ebay last night, and they got here today! how dam good is that! Im amazed in fact...
http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/1...re742small.jpg
Tested them on my exhaust, the 2.1/4" ones are spot on, got 6@ ' 2.1/4
2@ 2", 2@1.75" all for £10 p&p of ebay from JBI motorsport.
And then i got some exhaust heat wrap, was meant to receive 1 roll @ 10 meters long with 10 s/s ties, i got 2 set's, i didn't order two, i only paid £10 for the one order! lol Heat wrap anyone??
http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/4...re743small.jpg
Found a friend! thats a ear plug for size reference!
http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/5...re717small.jpg
http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/739...re718small.jpg
So anyway, i got my Ashly system out tonight and checked it all with the new claps, and started prepping it and the manifold for some heat resistant paint, although im covering the manifold in wrap i though i best clean it up (any surface grot) and give it a lick to keep it protected under the wrap.
http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/6...re721small.jpg
http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/3...re722small.jpg
This is where i plan to take the "kink" out and replace it with this S/S 4" round box i got. Hope it will flow better and drop the noise a bit too.
http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/949...re726small.jpg
Then onto cleaning the manifold with a few wire wheel attachments etc.

http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/922...re729small.jpg
http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/2...re727small.jpg
Then it was time to slap on the paint!

Why what color are they? I got these painted several months back when the MK1 whent in for paint, there not Jamaica yellow, but it's very close, it's a BMW color.
Where did you order the wrap from Scott? JBI?
Looking good Scott, what are you welding the exhaust with? mild or stainless wire?
Chris it was from a place on ebay called XPS
James, the wire used on the lambda port was stainless, as will be the wire on the new box to go into the system, but any other parts will be mild.
Scott
Thanks Scott,
wonder what the difference is? (apart from £3!)

So my mate from work Rich (who use to be apprentice under me 5 years ago, now shows me the ropes at my new job at his place lol) He has a MK1 Escort and is building a MK2 Escort with his dad, he came over with his welder, as i cant weld like he can, and we got fitting..
First off we put it on the car, then marked for the center "kink" to be cut out and new box to be added, then chopped and tacked it in place, then offered up under the car again before seaming it.

Scott
System looks well mate, nicely fitted front silencer too!!!
Pretty much the same system i could do with! Lol
Ahh forgot to mention, it's as quite as fook now! and seams to flow better, as it starts essayer.. Bonus, it's so quite i was shocked lol, i also have a bit left over, might use it to clamp on for short system from manifold for drag days!
Scott
Whats the 'note' like Scott? Will it easy pass track requirements?
The sounds very very low, no rasp or nothing way quieter then my old one, it's that extra box, will easy pass sound test's..
Just what i need!
My current system is raspy a fcuk
Am amazed there's room in there for the extra box. Nice work dude.
Internal shifter ftw....
In Scott's case lol
Hahaha.. More so didn't think the tunnel was that long.
Very tidy, good job!
Good stuff Scott :) bet your neighbours were loving you today then lol lol
good work scott
Cheers guys, yep that one of the main reasons i wanted to go straight was the internal shifter, and drop the noise, lol neighbors loved it when i started it with just the manifold on!
Scott
Exhaust is looking good Scott.
Did you have to grind the corner of your manifold? I've just fitted a Ashley 4-2-1 on mine and it fouled the thermostat housing.
Also where did you get the third silencer from?
Cheers
Ian
Ian, do you not rear mate! yes had to grind it off lolQuote:

Scott
Great work on the exhaust. Lol at all the cars infront of the house lol
