Good progress Ad! I had the same issues using the solid mounts i had when i originally fitted the xe.

The rear mount fitted fine though.
yeah the front mount fan is off an astra G, just made to fit with a few elongated brackets, tacked to the front panel. (ad it's just on the front fog switch atm, so it could be switched when needed, not the thermo switch)
Ad i never ran the oil cooler either, ran ok.

The fan can be cable tie on to the rad top and bottom, thats how i fitted mine.

On the rear mount, can you not tack in a washer if you want to add a little strength?
Also, the front mount, you said you had to pass a bolt through the chassis. Is there not enough room to put the bolt through the mount the up into the car mount then slide the bracket over the end of the thread? Or is there not enough room for the bolt head against the chassis leg?
I might bin the cooler then, not sure yet....

Simps, that is an option, but as Ernie pointed out it should be ok, i did the bolt/nut FT so the bracket will be clamped against the mount now and shouldn't budge.
I tried that with the mount first time, and nope it wont work.
There is zero space between mount and chassis even without a bolt head.....
Hence i had to feed a bolt through a hole in the chassis leg, which was already there... So i assume the mounts are designed to use that hole....
Ad if your going to give it some abuse on track i would fit the cooler mate, just replace with flexie oil pipes from euro rally etc.

Ive got another cooler/pipes that i had off John ages ago, which looks like it'll fit better as the pipes are shorter, but the unions where it fits the sandwich plate are different to mine...
I had an idea of just sawing the unions where the solid pipes join the rubber hoses off, and then just shorting them using normal rubber hose...
But not sure if jubilee clipped hose would hold up to the pressure of oil....
Might work, if not do you have a local place that supplies fuel/oil/air lines, (cant think of then name now) i went to a place in cov to get some custom fuel line, and oil line for a mates car once.
