Oh davie, i thought for a min there was an update lol
iain
Hope you get it sorted :thumb:
cheers mate,
on the plus side, thats the new courtney oil pump fitted:d
things still to do
1. Remove & line up quickrack then refit (thanks bazil / iain for the info;) )
2. Remove engine and get chassis cut out for alternator as its fouling when driving.
3. Remove rear axle, get it powdercoated and refit with new polybushes that i bought ages ago but never got round to fittinglol
oh yeah, and the small matter of getting it painted, dont think i will manage to get it all done before the new family member arrives on or around 16th of september tho.
david
No worries mate, as I said I'll do the chassis leg for you when you get the engine oot :)
cheers mate, snuggy found a wee oil leak when he took it a testdrive, so he is goin to check it out then a will take it back down the unit to strip it back out
Glad to hear your still working away on this mate, will be a bit of a relief when its finally all finished i bet!
Just incase your no back on anytime soon, all the best for when the new family member arrives :thumb:
when is it getting painted
well i actually worked on a nova today, but not mine lol, so dc has had problems with altenator hitting the chassis leg, so after the previous attempts to clear the leg by battering fook out the leg by the guy who tried the conversion dc removed the engine to box out the leg properly with the help of me and iain ( nov4-sport )

oh and dc's new rear strutt brace
http://i790.photobucket.com/albums/y...3/589267bd.jpg
hopefully more tomorrow
Good times, remember kids, safety first lol.
:( to that "brace" looks pretty tho.
Glad you boys are getting fired in about it n showing him how its done, nice to see DC still pottering away with it and not giving up :thumb:
I prefer the hammer method, (though cut a slice out of the top of the leg, hammer together and re-weld) Less un protected metal to rust, and looks factory if done right)
But nice to see the car making progress :D
looking good boys.
p.s i would love to paint this.......
the leg was in quite a state tbh, its been hit so hard its actually broke a spot weld on the other side of the chassis leg in the wheel side of the leg so atleast cutting it out will make it look a deliberate mod rather than a botched job, but i take your point that it can be done neatly with a hammer
i cant see it getting painted anytime soon lol but i'll say to him mate, DC doesnt have a working PC atm and his phone doesnt like the new forum lol
bit of a wasted day, half way through the welder ran out of wire, fine went and got a new spool, while feeding through the new wire the gas ran out!!!!!!!, bloody anoying, anyway a pic or 2 of todays little work

still more work needing done but meh, i'll get back to it soon
Bazil, nice to see you helping DC out but can i speak for all of us and say "Get the finger out and put this sort of effort into your own project, Get it done" lol
ehh naw lol i'll get round to mine someday :)
lol
looking good mate , glad to see you finally got a cage too
Them rear braces are good for beating your kids with, not making a Nova handle better lol
think its more for looks
good to see everyone getting stuck in. btw im sure they rear braces still make a differance
glad to see you didn't give up on this..
I have got the engine stripped down again so i can paint the block and get the rest of the parts powdercoated, hopefully the rear beam will also be done by the end of January depending on funds:P
i now have a full bolt in cage & rear strutbrace to be fitted aswell.
hope to have the internet in our flat in the next few weeks so i will get some new pics up then.
Sounds good!! looking forward to the updates
This no dun yit ??
I thought there was an update there bud lol, the interweb is a must in the flat !
still no pics, but i collected the inlet manifold yesterday from the powdercoaters. Its looking really good even if i do say so myself:)
hope to get the rear axle off over the holidays ready to get coated along with the engine brackets etc.
