The blue one is fit your Nova, but the border, the button and the bolts are need more chrome :D
I don't wanna be too OFF ;)
Glad to see your top work again, hopefully You will be beat the hose problem! It doesn't looks too insolvable but really annoying.
You will be able to replace that bulb with an led easily, you just need to know what lamp it is,
They make retrofit leds for everything these days, I'll see if I can find a link when I'm home on the pc
Small up date as i'm still waiting on EVERYTHING! AutoVaux still haven't got my bolts out.. My bends for my IC still haven't come yet.
Hate cutting this bloody braided line.. Even using a grinder and 1mm disc the ends started to fray out.

And how it looks with the Sexy flocked cover back on...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...llinebits8.jpg
Nicely tucked away but still visible.
Hopefully more when stuff starts to turn up.
looks spot on dude :)
If you converted that inlet to a Sunny GTIR version I reckon you'd see not only more power, but a more refined curve.
Yeah? Wouldn't be a easy job i'm gonna guess tho....
sweet
Finally stuff has started to come.
Alloy bends for modding my IC.

Bolts here too so i can build the timing belt up. Roose hose posted next day yesterday. So that's turbo back on too.
Some good progress Ben!
Great work as per mate loving the flocked cover :)
Cheers guys. Hose is here too and looks great, about to start building it all back up in a few.
Scorge, the flocked covers are great. Feel so sexy.
Haha I bet it does I really like the idea would love it on mines but don't wanna steal your idea :( have you ever had any problems with it when engines up to heat?
lol coping is part the car world.. Everyone does it. I just try and change it a bit to make it custom..
Plug cover has been on since PV and is still box fresh.
I just bought the first ones i saw tbh. Needed them quick see. Would mandrel bent ones make that much difference?
Well yeah because not only will a smaller I.D reduce the flow, but the notch disrupts it too.
Can't you speak with someone who's done the GTI-R inlet mod to find out exactly what's needed? I think it would be worth the time & expense.
Roose hose came to day and it's a perfect fit. So big thanks to Paul and Emma Roose.

Fitted, only thing i don't like it is sticks up alot in to the bay..
With that on, i bolted the turbo on...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0709.jpg
Fitted a Zlet oil bolt too.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0706.jpg
With the new bottom pulley bolt finally here (ordered on 4th of Aug told 2days, came on the 14th... AutoVaux where helpful and very sorry over it) i've gotten all the cam belt end back up together.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_0708.jpg
Fitted a few more shiney bits too.. (again from Jimbo, best polishing i've seen)

More tomoz.
Good point, altho.. These don't have ripples and don't look like the machine bent to me..? They are a smooth flowing bend. 51mm at every point.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../ICmockup9.jpg
Don't know any one that has tho.... Or don't remember seeing it done.
What was wrong with the old bends on the turbo, or shall I say angles? do you want better flow?
Drivers side was just a silicone elbow, But was very very tight in there. So while it was off and all.
Pass side i had the end modded because of fitting the F28 mount, he made me this up..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...dpipework2.jpg
But was told that the flow would be impeded by the shape. So a nice bend would be better...
It's not ideal by some margin. Who's that guy with the 600BHP red turbo corsa on MIG? He runs the sort of inlet you'd want. Pretty sure Chip has used a couple in some of his projects too.
Oh right i see, not seen that one before. Guy on mig using a dewymotorsport inlet.
Nic Barnes runs the gtir inlet on his corsa
When you think about how the standard LET / XE inlet flows from the top, it bounces down and across. Upping the flow will only result in a bigger pulse backwards, which is a world away from something properly designed.
Oh right, i know the std manifold isn't the best flowing but never really thought much about it.
Gary Hurn also ran a gtir inlet later on iirc...... Maybe on his build thread If you wanted more info on it etc.
Nick.
Who?
Ah i'll have a look.
Sorry, only just seen this...are we talking about the inlet?
Like this?

Looks like it, doesn't look the easy thing to work around with that.
That inlets a waste of time unless your trying for big bhp which if a right your not.
the more i read you build benn the more i want them BBS for my cav f lol lol
Nonsense STE - you could be at a stock state of tune, change only the inlet & see a totally different power & torque curve.
I think at the mo, i wouldn't be swapping the inlet. If i was gonna i'd go DewMS as it would be a bolt on fit, so less messing about.
Pie. Dddddddddddddddddddooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo it!

On Sunday it was timing belt time.
New crack pulley bolt, fitted. Got getting it to 250lbs is so hard.
Belt back on, timing done, engine wont fully turn over.. Cant work out why.. Check everything.
Still wont turn over fully. RC off to check the buckets/tappits all move to make sure nothing is bent, all ok. Then Dan notices the bottom pulley timing mark is 180deg out... Very odd.
Mess about and check it all, now i'm thinking did i line it up? Has the woodruff key fallen out? Now worrying i decide to do it all again. Incase there is something wrong.. So belt off, struggle to undo the bolt pulley bolt.. Can't get the pulley off.. Sh*t!
Pulling the washer off.... Oh FUNK! The woodruff key is smashed to bits. Now thinking back, I slide the pulley on and start doing the bolt up. I didn't slide the pulley all the way in so the WRK was all the way in the slot.. So when leaning on the bar to do the bolt up its come out and moved. Funking **** bags! I've funked that up then. So pissed at my self.
New pulley needed, new bolt which i ordered to day. What a sh*t day.
