im so tempted to sell the xe and just bung a little 1400 in there and a full interior, but im to deep in to this dam xe track idea now
You've more ups and downs than a roller coaster, come on TJ everything is going to be an issue when building a car to the spec you want so don't give up ;)
i just need to leave it alown untill this new job starts and i have some funds again, but i cant, i keep going in there trying to do stuff on the cheap and not feeling happy with it, its annoying me now.

Just chop a little more out and bash it down to meet the other piece, they can be welded together when the rest is done so it won't be noticeable
As said if the bolt goes in for the alternator bracket then it should hopefully be OK.
Nice job on the wiring loom, something I've always been a bit slack at actually fully inspecting looms!
take off all that bloody tape.
re wrap it in proper non adhesive loom tape or it will be too stiff to move, or use that lovely cotton adhesive tape when its got its form. solder the wires together or you will lose your patience again s soon as you try running it.
no point doing something awful the first time to do it again man

Spend a few more quid and get a good set, you want proper cut ones, not rolled ones. I got my set from Castle Combe from a random guy selling tools, was £35. They sell for £85 everywhere else i've seen them.
Tape wrapped around the wiper motor! I've seen it all now lol soldering irons are around £10 mate I suggest you get one. If the car is bugging you just leave it alone for a couple of weeks, I know exactly how you feel but please stop bodging lol

as Ive said from the begin this isn't a car thats being made to look pretty, as long as it does the job and looks relatively neat, tidy and rust free I'm not fussed, i just want to go fast!

RIGHT the new plan involves getting the car working so worse comes to worse it will be a lot easier for my bird to sell, and hopefully I can have fun with it, before it goes forever potentially :(

im going to finish the welding to the cross member and alternator mod, waxoyl and paint it up, I have also bought a 1200 carb engine so that will be picked up and installed next weekend with help from ian (with 2 i's) if he is a man of his word :)

anyone know what rear pipe this is? it doesn't have any heater matrix hose feeds at all, it came out of a autograss car so clearly they don't run them, but I think its a good idea to have heat on a road going car lol

its the normal one, remove the pipe that goes from the water bar to inlet and there your 2 heater matrix pipes
