took grille off in my dinner time lol :D also took half the bumper off but the bolts that go into chassis were all hard to get out and took bloody ages so i left them will get air ratchet on them tomorrow :D and then bumpers off :)

first break took the side bolts out of front bumper

dinner i took the bolts out of bumper bar and took it off,

last break i took the lights out, and worked over for 1hr (15 mins of actual work) and took rear bumper off

bad news though

its been in crash as thought back panel was replace and looks a "great job" ( said by the lad who i work with hes quilfied panel beater)

and the crossmember valence thingy has a scab of rust seems solid on two minds at the min what to do proper stab at it weld plate behind and fill or just leave

hole is about 4 cm x 1 cm, is it worth new front panel or shall i sand back to good metal fibreglass fill over it :) its on a mk2 so hidden by bumper :)

understatement of the year lol first one was hard took about 30mins to take one pin out but once i got a good technique the other 3 pins came out in about 15mins

and then is just block it back which will take a hour or so and then paint

nah mate will be doing so today, i cant get over how expencive the insurance is, the cheapest i founf was £750 after a lot of hunting and apparently the "nova" has higher insurance as its a typical boy racer car........

Only problem with new driver's is insurance. 750 is a good price for your 1st insurance tbh.

I payed 800 fully comp on a classic mini as my 1st car 4 year's ago.

Now cheapest quotes i been getting on a 1L nova is 4500. Just drive sensible don't go down the same route i did with points convictions and ban's.

blimey your gettin on with it, iv just done a bito fillering with mine today, if you dont mind me asking how much is the paint gonna cost you? as i need to do mine, i think im gonna spray it myself tho as i can get a big compressor for 79 quid!

is coming around 50£ish through work aswell

ars ready for paint not just needs panel wiping and masking and its ready to go, paint is getting ordered monday and doors and bumpers need priming

Its got to be re-painted. The primer on one of the 1/4's has bleed through.

yea some of the primer on both sides has bled through:mad:

the roof and bonnet is mint thought lol bought another ltr of paint :)

and novalad its 78L 567 toscana/toskana/toscan red

Front is about 60mil

And yeah i cut the rear arch lips back slightly with a grinder.
Would of been a good idea to do yours before respraying the shell lol lol

yea should have the door built up tomorrow after work, and then get sunroof in friday or something and then its completed, go into work saturday with it get it polished and then meet sunday

right didnt get much done after work just re masked the areas save the masking tape marking the paint, after i did that figured didnt have much light left to do the doors since the window mechanism is rivited on and the drill wasnt charged went to move it for pictures, flat battery :( anyway here some are
