Mk2 Centre Console!

Hey peeps, not so long back i fitted a MK2 dash to my mk1. I recently tried fitting the mk2 centre console and it doesn'y seem like it wants to line up with the gear shift area (it looks as tho the centre console should go alot further inwards {forward}). Anybody else had this problem? if so what do i do??????

ive done the same conversion, everything seemed okay when i lined it up, i think u live near me so you can come and have a look if u like. Remember my m8 bought that black and red 1.2 off of you.
