The truth about Nova seats???

I'm wondering if we can clear this up about Nova seats.....basically, are the Nova SR/GTE/GSi sports seats related in anyway to Recaro???

As far as I have always known, they're NOT Recaros, and Vauxhall never advertised them as such, but some peeps sell Novas (and other Vauxhalls) saying they're fitted with Recaros. I've also read in the past that Vauxhall used Recaro designed frames or something along those lines.

So, does anyone know for definite, if they're related to Recaro in anyway, or are they purely made my Vauxhall?

In the old Vauxhall Brochures, they told peeps that the seats were Recaros in the MKI Astra SR and GTE, early Cavalier SRi and Manta GTE, but for the Nova SR, they only said "Rally Style Sports Seats", so if they were Recaros, then surely Vauxhall would have bragged about it in the Brochures!!

My Cavalier GSi seats had Recaro labels underneath them and they are very similar to Nova ones so there is a good chance they are Recaro.

but they have recaro subframes!!!

I had an astra with sporty seats in once and they were Recaro's, have a look for the labels coz they will have the name on them.

um....interesting. I didn't know about the Cav seats having Recaro labels on 'em.....I'll have a look at my seats to see if they have any labels on; even if it's just the sub-frames, they may be labelled.

I always questioned it 'cos the Nova seats don't have the characteristic shape of Recaros, or the unique head-rests, and some peeps always said they are Recaros, so was interested to find out for sure.

Like I said above, I know the MKI Astra SR and GTE had proper Recaros, as did the early MKII Cav SRi's and the Manta GTE's and a few other Manta models.

I would have a bit back CP...but I managed to get some for ?25 (not the red/grey ones though...the older grey striped ones).

I was looking for some 'cos with the red centres, they'd match quite well with my red Antibes interior, but I've now got some Antibes fabric from a back seat to re-trim my seats, so they'll match.

aparently the frames are and their should be labels on them somewhere, you would have to take to pieces to find though.

read in some magazine they were recaro designs with vauxhall cloth to keep costs down but from what the above reads this may not be the case

The Nova SR and GSi seats are on a recaro frame, and upholstered by another company. I'm not sure if the GTE seats are recaros as their an older seat. So in theroy, they can be classed as recaros.
