View Full Version : WIP Nova turbo. almost done!
£82 delivered, going to fit it on thursday. Should only take an hour.
Nice one mate, do you need anything else other than just the shaft?
No mate just the shaft
Well i got up at stupid o-clock this morning and fitted the equal length driveshaft set up.
Unfortunatly though is wet so theres no point taking it out. Hopefully it will dry out and i can see if its made much difference.
Need to get it washed and a damn good polish now, im going to france on friday and dont get back untill the following saturday. So its need to be ready for pv before i go away.
Ill upload a couple of pics i have in a minute, only taking with my phone so not very good quality.
Unfortunatly im not going to get the bodywork thats needs doing before pv, so its not going to be looking its best. Theres a hole on the bumper from where ive moved the number plate light and the front bumper needs some work as ive had to cut it up some more for the intercooler.

I love let's!!!
Well it dryed up and took it out for a spin. Its made a big difference for sure, it still pulls but i can put a lot more power down before it does so.
No matter how many times i take it out, it puts a smill on my face every time. Cant wait for pv now so i can get on the strip.
Does anyone know if theres going to be a rolling road there? I really want to know how much power its got.

Am I a mind reader or what?!
There's normally an RR there but I wouldn't use it personally. Its not like being at a local RR if it goes wrong.
Nice one mate! looks like im working for pv, bugger

i would not use a rolling road at one of these shows, the fans they use are utter junk and your car will boil, inlet temps will be higher than normal as a result and thus give a unrealistic figure!
rolling roads are hit and miss tbh at the best of times, but if your that interested in what its got then get it booked in to a local rolling road with decent 3 phase fans that can kinda replicate on road conditions though not quite as good it will give you a better idea than a little 10" desk fan.
car looks very nice though :D

what are those wheels called. ?
well i thought id do a bit of an update as its been a while, ive been trying to enjoy the car more than work on it over the past few months and what can i say it is a whole lot of fun!
But as always i couldnt help having a litle dabble now and again, after all half the fun is building it, then changing it, then changing it again.
I bit the bullet at pv and put it on the rolling road, obviously there are varied opinions on these but i thought what the heck.
It made 288bhp and 290 torque. the guy said it was running spot on and couldnt fault it.

Then i had a few runs on the strip, only made a 13.8 sec run but was getting quicker with everyrun, just getting use to putting the power down.

Couple of things in the engine bay, a scuttle panel cover from scott which really tidys up the engine bay and a samco inlet hose as the standard one was looking a litle tired.

whilst at pv i picked up a couple of irmscher stickers, i was a litle unsure if these would work, what do you guys think?

And for my lastest buy, a pair of corbeau revolutions. Ive wanted some for ages but just could justify the money. I made an offer for £375 and picked them up the next day. They came with corbeau subframes which ill fit at a later date.

Looks great Craig, did you have a diff fitted for your quater mile runs?

The Irmscher stickers are very subtle. I'd prefer the seats if they were Grey.
Awesome car though, it must get some looks?

Cheers, No i havnt got a LSD, thats one of my bigest problems i think. Even with the equal length driveshaft set up, its still a night mare to get the power down.
The plan is to purchase a lsd before may next year.

I agree, Black or grey inserts for the seats are on my shopping list, as i really dont like the blue.
It does get some looks, but alot of the time not positive unfortunatly.
shame the looks arnt positive as i really like this car. sprint kit looks the bollacks IMO.
Also you know you wont see another one the same in the UK as this is the only one i know about, as didnt you buy a kit that was for sale as a spare?
the negative opinions dont bother me to much as i like it and thats what really matters.
Yeah i brought a second kit as a spare, also because i didnt want any one else to have it lol (sad i know)

this is a postive one its bought not brought
Sure he will fully take the above on board, and now go onto earn alot more money.
lol, i have my own personal spell checker
Those that don't understand what the car is or what it's about might give it a negative look but it's fapping awesome imo :thumb:
To be fair it's a nova, it's always gonna get someone looking down it lol
Whats going on with this homo?!

Probably more than whats going on with yours LOL!!
Its tucked up in a council garage at the mo with no tax, mot or insurance :-(.
Im buying a house at the mo, so ive been saving everything i can which means the nova staying off the road for a while.
Today was my last day in the workshop as well. Once im settled in the house, ill be building a double garage, where the nova will be getting striped down for a bare shell respray and maybe a colour change.
I also have plans for a real retro interior, abit like this.
How you getting on with your house?

Nice mate! still going with it then! not alot with myne it's under cover (lucky) as my **** tard neighbours creasoted their fence the other day and it went everywhere!.
House was sold but got ****ed around so it's back on the market, have you got a place now?
yeah we bought 3 bed semi down stoneymoor close in holbury, moving in middle of october.
Scary at first but glad ive done it finally!
Bet your nova's feeling a bit neglected beeing out side all this time.
Ill be sticking with the nova, id rather run it into the ground than sell it.
Nova isnt to bad mate, its all up together bar needing a rear bumper painted and getting it running again! may have a look at it sometime, think i need to stash it in a garage over winter, your new place got a garage?
