Mine come out through were the standard rod does then basicly straight onto the box mine did feel tight until I cobered the ends both ends with grease . Spot on now . N my shifter is sat on a plate welded to the original gear stick hole thing that sticks up
ill try greasing it, like the height you have it at.Nice build mate.

So after swaping the crank sensor for the one I got off torquey. I still wasnt getting an rpm signal turns out it was the o ring pushing the sensor out to far ( sensor didnt use an o ring) removed that and instantly got a signal . After nud changed somthing on the map we also got a spark so just need the new fpr to turn up now and will hopefully have a running drag car.

Fitted a clutch switch for full throttle gear shift and to work with the anti lag.
Lobster back for the intercooler as the silicone bend radius is to big to fit behind the bumper.
And started mocking the rear bumper up as it was a widearch one so had to tuck it in a bit.

The motor its self was built for figures around 700hp however the standard inlet and the turbo will restrict it to around 400 . I have a big plenum inlet still to go on and a gtx3582r which I just need a new manifold for so should see figures of 600hp before the season has finished . Still work to do but there is a few events I want to attend hence the reason its getting tuned now

Bit of an update . I have bought a gtx3582r turbo for the car and love the look of the side mounted turbos . So iv have had a little project going over the last week of making a manifold for it and as equal as i can get without going daft . Im currently half way through welding it then the plan is to send it away for ceramic coating black along with the turbine housing .
Go easy its the first turbo manifold i have ever build. First pic cutting the merge collector
Then the elbows and flange arrived
Ended up with a nice shape after alot of measuring
And began to weld it.
Im now at the point were i need to let it cool then remove the flange and merge collector to finish the welds and then build it back up again for welding to the flange .
I have bolted the flange to a heavy box section to stop and distortion but for the sake of £30 i think i will have it skimmed aswell before coating.
More pics to comehttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190126/078a2527f9e7e7681cd071099608cc54.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190126/b72825ddbdadb486bf71e8aadbcfb495.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190126/52892ac8d188ebb2e5094f3082c4fe90.jpg

Boost pipes all sorted. Fiberglass bonnet fits spot on . Just another hole next to the exhaust to cut for screamer pipe. Carbon effect door cards to add a bit of weight and hide all sharp edges behind . And another pair of equal length shafts as spares .
Just bottom rad hose to sort out now then strip it all down and rebuild it all properly ready for the dyno . https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190603/4b1a3042d62f3ac2ea62039b7f17e594.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190603/292a0c9c4bdc7e6df95e46dca459570e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190603/6a10c0a23ecf7878f76ebc2f2db8d92f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190603/ecf6cb034ed559bdfde49ee0cb05d575.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190603/d2f281970cf11e4fc6f64515b29eeae2.jpg

Also added a lower brace and soon to be a full subframe in the bay to stop a bit more flex the tube chassis is doing its job great however the car just flexes closer to the bulkhead now so by adding this im hoping that it will keep the bottom arms a bit tighter on the launch.
Rear brace is fitted now but i cant totaly complete it until i build another set of tie bar mounts with some sort of connection added to take the tubeshttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200912/1cd76e6621c1b12c4bdbe05d260de051.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200912/740c235666b6ad266df96ee0ea8ba792.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200912/6a8f1825cc691244c2823641a42fb67f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200912/60da9c7bbb72df2ec7da898c5b708d25.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200912/ec88500bb2f149417c9b745672eb8f74.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200912/efcd5fbc1ccdbf0a8cb23542106b943c.jpg

Also added a lower brace and soon to be a full subframe in the bay to stop a bit more flex the tube chassis is doing its job great however the car just flexes closer to the bulkhead now so by adding this im hoping that it will keep the bottom arms a bit tighter on the launch.
Rear brace is fitted now but i cant totaly complete it until i build another set of tie bar mounts with some sort of connection added to take the tubeshttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200912/6a8f1825cc691244c2823641a42fb67f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200912/60da9c7bbb72df2ec7da898c5b708d25.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200912/ec88500bb2f149417c9b745672eb8f74.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200912/efcd5fbc1ccdbf0a8cb23542106b943c.jpg

Ohhh that brace is smart! For some reason I want.
I fitted a similar brace and it makes of a world of diference - makes sense thinking of the forces going from the wheels under acceleraetion and braking, through the tiebar brackets and being transferred up the chassis legs.
Downside on mine is you can't remove the diff with it fitted, if you can work around the diff over that would be good.

New box all back together. I noticed inside this later f18w the have a latch to hold them in gear and stop it jumping out which is handy. Must have been a diesel thing?
Also got 2 new preasure sensors for fuel and oil for ecu cut.
Hall effect speed sensor to pick up off the rear hub / meaning i can run traction control and boost by gear.
4 puck paddle clutch to go with the cg motorsport cover.
New cam and pulleys.
Fittings for new bigger fuel tank.
And best of all i can eventually take advantage of my ecu having bluetooth. Which connects wireless to the tablet meaning i can run tunerstudio and have installed the lambo dash into shadow ms (rings go away when i start the car)
I hope all these added extras will give me the edge off the lights. Rather than all the power when its not wanted. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210701/e15c12e07297d8a1ef15dfb937abf440.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210701/bfeaba5977db041a09d34225a875161e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210701/6e44b8efd354a411f1fca3db20063683.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210701/96e0b92cdcd0664640a8b5cf776f44ec.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210701/192e3de1aaa1ecdb7e6ad897e05515c6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210701/db28b2f329a8d02864caf50ca9ff59ce.jpg

My mig ability fluctuates as I do it so sporadically. Mostly I?m just tacking and I get in a proper welder like you to zip round it all. Every time I get to a point where I feel happy to weld it up myself my 10yr+ cheap Clarke mig reliability promptly reminds me why I get someone in.
What do you think of the dual machines that can mig & tig? Or better to keep separate?

Keep them all seperate sets pal. But to be totally honest i would only ever tig stainless with a 240v set as the ac doesnt balance correctly with 240 for alloy im not saying it doesnt work but it doesnt flow anywere near aswell as the 3phase 400v
I tac the stuff together at home with 240 then take it to work and weld it on 3 phase for alloy.
If you do go for 240 ac dc tig set make sure its an inverter and you should get away with it easy enough

Was considering building a car port at home so i could park the car under it through the day while i work in the garage on other things. My lift is permanently taken up by the nova. Until someone pointed it out to me all i need is an enclosed trailer. After searching for one to buy 6k starting money for something half good i decided to just order the gear in at work and build my own. 550 quid for 10 lengths of 1.5 wall erw box section and 10 alloy sheets and its half way there after today. We are going in tommorow to sheet it then it will be off to the body shop to be painted gloss black. Only adding a tiny 180kg to the trailers weight. Will also double up as somewere to sleep when we are away racing. Big door / ramp going on the back and small door on the fronthttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210925/55485364e3d490e085662506a0ce7c4a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210925/936c278f08ecf8ad9b3c9be27b079080.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210925/7f5e146bf6e82cf2e4f8137d9dedb193.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210925/2909e4bf22616022a0327e2328ead175.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210925/d558e3272d6d7c73f9220efb32c79949.jpg

All i can suggest is if you are riveting the sheet on like i have make sure you have an air or battery riveter. There is around 550 rivets in the full job and i cant imagine doing it with a standard rivet tool lol.

Hmmm problem this is what happens when sellers lie about items. Was told this was a standard width kit off the lads rally car. Blatently not.
So they will be going up forsale if any one is interested. 50mm wide trackhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20211017/44f95d87e560ffb00307dd92a56256a6.jpg

Whats the deal with meth to ethanol? Not something I know much about!
total_vauxhall
21-01-22, 08:14 PM
There is quite a lot of science behind it that is well over my head but basically pump fuel ratio is 14.7:1 .methanol ratio is 6.5:1 and ethanol is 9.1:1 . Cars will usually make good power on pump fuel however this is limited once you start to detect knock . Running methanol burns much much cooler so you can make a lot more power without knock but you need to run 2-2.5X the amount of fuel . For me to do this for my next power goal I would have either had to go with massive injectors I mean huge or run 8 1300cc injectors . The tuner has said if I go over to pure ethanol I will get away with 4x1300cc injectors but still benefit from its cooling effects . One other thing is I won't have all the chew on I have at the moment of having to refuel with gloves n glasses n shit on.and flushing the system after each track day. But yea these are proper motorsport injectors so stainless internals and a much better spray pattern than the deka 875s I was previously using .

What is the advantage of the new axle on a drag car? Being fwd I can?t imagine you?re looking for a wider tyre out back?? Is a weight & extra stability thing?
total_vauxhall
25-01-22, 07:45 AM
Yea weight and due to running such thin rims on the back it just gives that width back for a bit more stability. This is the fcs trigger wheel I'm going to run so will make it a lot easier to fit the caliper mount etc aswell rather than messing about with standard beam . One thing I just found out was if you only run say 4 tooth trigger for the speed this obviously divides the tire into 4 parts meaning the car can move let's say 400mm without a signal . It doesn't sound much but during a launch this much can allow the car to fall flat on its face with that high res wheel it picks up every few mm so much more precise readings for the ecu to work outhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220125/f57f0ba5089f498671051828a66975fc.jpg
