Both cars look great! nice tidy engine bay on the nova and nice to see it breathing properly (webbers):) i all ways thought a machanical petrol pump wouldnt cope with the demand from webbers? The wheels dont look that bad but white Mo's will look better!

stu, the mechanical pump puts to much pressure on anayway lol

two people, both whom build rally cars (lots of expirience with 8v vaux engines) and have massive knowledge of carbs and engine; have both told me the Mech pump will be absolutly fine.
Dare i say, probably likely more knowledge than most people on here !
(don't shoot the messenger lol)

Will post some up tommorow, 100% standard.
It's only done 30k too
Scirocco GT2 hasn't changed much, just need to clamp the battery down, wap the harnesses in and wire up the spotlamps. Then it's ready for action.
We may be looking for a Clio 16v or a clean Nova to use instead.
Both cars looking quality :thumb:
The hill is calling me too!

both cars lookin really well mate...that xr2 is immaculate:eek:
could you tell me this does the bay NEED seam welded for a 1.6 t40 with cam:confused:  :thumb:
if your keeping it, in the near future im hopoing it might be mine.
i'll pm you mate.
It's a bit more than just a 1.6 T40 with a cam. I havn't posted to proper bottom end spec, just a brief over view.
No it doesn't, but i did it for the fact it's going to be used for Hill Climb competitions, so it's gonna get quite a bit of strain !
It's also made a massive improvment in handling and feel of the car, it's like brand new. Also elliminated alot of roadnoise.
are you gonna be sponsored by cadburys for your hill climbing escapades ??

im not on about your car matelol lol
im seeking info for myself... i wanted to know if my bay would need welded for a 16t40 with a cam lol:thumb:
if your going to take out the engine and do other mode then yes it would be worth it make it hangdle better and if you start getting 150BHP out of the 1.6 then yes cos that what XE's are so i would think it'll need it.

thanks man...wasnt too sure about it.. i thought it was due to xe weight an torque...
now...any one fancy weldin my baylol lol :thumb:
alos if you taking it lump out you may as well tidy the bay up and weld it soo it look good for shows if that how you want to go. i wan to do the same if and when i get a GSI

well i was for smoothin the inner wings (like keith robinsons) but jus wanted to no if the rest would need stich welded too:thumb:
Ahh i see !
I'd do it, if you want a neat bay, and can find someone good to weld and spray !
Otherwise, don't worry about it. It's mainly needed for torque and weight of an XE
smoothed bays are the future! im in the process of doing mine over the last few weeks/months!

thankin you:thumb: :thumb:
ill get the boy that welded the few patches for me to do it.. might try my hand at sprayin it myself tho:thumb:
was thinkin matt black:confused:  ill wait an see how it goes first..
thanks for the advice nick:thumb: :thumb: :)
Find someone good to weld it, and Stitch it. You can see the stitches along the Innerwing/chassis leg seam area, visible under some sealer !
Not a great fan of smoothed bays, just loads of filler to hide rott. and crack eventually

nah well mines is mint enough in the bay i was gonna fill up along the inner wings with weld to minamise filler an crackin...
looks sweet as fluck if you ask me
Yes it looks neat, but on a car you intend to use for something , it's just pointless and completly un-functional !
i think its more of a show thing personnaly, and a mint engine bay on a nova will always look good anyway !
Looks good Nick, I have some 16" Compomotives for sale if you are interested.
PM me if you want
