you have to sand it for hours to get it to work.

Rub down the bumpers, Prime, Wet n Dry Primer, Prime again, Wet n Dry again etc etc until your happy. Wet n Dry once more. Then go onto the paint, little bit at a time, gradually building it up. Leave it for a week or so then wet n dry with very fine paper very ligtly, then T cut and Polish.

It will always flake off unless u use a proper plastic primer(2 Pack) but this is leathal to use. I done mine by sanding, plasti coat, then primer filler then paint and i caught it and it flaked off cause it was so thick. I now advise using emery cloth and getting rid of all the dimples then trying that way. Next time I'm going to buy a fresh air system and start using 2 pck. The only way forwards I feel???

Get some pre-colour coded bumpers like on the GTE/GSi if you can.....then sand the painted finish, prime and paint.....saves a lot of hassle.

Or.....I found quite by accident, that if you apply the paint very thinly, you can spray directly onto the plastic.....ok.....it's not that easy, but have you ever noticed how over-spray is a bugger to get off lol! (don't seriously try this...it will probably flake)

I was spraying on old knackered alloy anthracite to see what it'd look like, and got loads of over-spray on an old bumper that was sat there.
The paint went straight on to the plastic, and it won't come off.....it only comes off by scraping it hard with a screwdriver.
I sprayed some more on it to experiment, and that won't come off either, even bending the bumper won't make it crack.
I was going to try it on the Antibes bumpers just for a laugh (I was going to smooth and paint 'em anyway so if it fooked up, it wouldn't matter), but I'm selling it soon so not bothering.

sand with ruff as fook paper get bumper right back to virtually nothing, then smooth off with finer paper (i sanded from 60 grit right through to 1000grit paper). Then prime and paint. Use BUMPER PAINT.

make sure the bumper is unbelievebly clean before u even attempt to paint. wash the fooker before u sand it and use loads of panel wipe on it.
