I recon loads of peeps would have bother answering my questions, take a look below at all the mahem!

The exhaust ports on the 1200,1300 and 1400 (possibly 1600 but no
experience) are effectively identical, may need to fine tune them
with a rough file. Inlet ports on the 1400/1600 are different. As a
guide NV type engines are small and square and SV or is it SE?
engines are large and round.

Manifolds - yes use the one the head came with or for better mid-
range go for a tubular 4-2-1 (Ashley?)

To answer an earlier question - float - yes when the followers leave
the surface of the cam on the down ramp - probably never actually
closing fully. Springs probably not strong enough. But you don't
wanna rev a std block much above 7,000 anyway! If you carry on
revving you will break followers and destroy the cam and possibly
everything else as well.

Gaskets - you can't get a speccio(sp?) gasket for the 1200/1300/1400
vauxhall engine. I always use a std GM jobbie. Never played with
other makes as the thickness tends to vary make to make. Std GM about
1.8-1.9 thick, one other make 1.5mm thick. Ideal if you want to
cheaply increase compression but N.F.G. if you are already borderline
too high compression!
