View Full Version : Velos today
Well its been 8 months or so since my last visit so thought with a track day looming i better get the car back to them for a quick check over to make sure it was running right/see how far out of tune it had got.
The car span on the rollers a few times so we ended up giving the tyres abit of sticky stuff and i sat in the passenger side, only to find that after all that time the engine is set abs spot on to how it was with the last final result.
All we did was fit some new plugs and that was it, the carbs were fuelling pretty much perfect, and were spot on for balance still. Just goes to show that alot of the wives tales and horror stories are probably down to poor setting up in the first place. Velos proved their worth to me the first time when i ran at pod, and again today i was very pleased with the results i got which only backed my opinion up.

am bein serious though; wanna see what dans is runnin' i'm interested...
peester mate your missing the point Dan is running one of the fastest 1.6 around
didnt get a print out this time but ran same as last time. Why the worry about power figures tho lol, from general knowledge it is "unofficially" the fastest n/a 1.6 8v over the qtr at the moment even with all its down sides and i quote (along with mike now) one of the lowest figures for its state of tune compared to the 150 this 160 that normals
At the end of the day bhp is a guide that can vary between upto 20bhp depending on where you go, its how it feels and what it actually performs like that counts.

lol; not racin you then... ill keep chasin tho...
Dan backed up what I've been saying for years, carbs do not go out of tune if they are set up properly in the first place!
Velos is a conservative RR. They don't believe in shouting about bhp, just accurately making comparrisons. Whats good about dans car, and a 1.6 T40 in general is the torque spread.
Good stuff mate, I look forward to having a go next week! It's not your daily driver is it, might not get back in one piece!
MC
lmfao, well if i dont smash it then either you or charles prob will     , in case of passengers in car at time i have told them rally rules apply, passenger side first
ill pass on the ride then lol :D
and charles will just bitch that i put the car out of balance LMAO
