Step 1: Remove them from the car
Step 2: Rub them down until they are as smooth as you can get them
Step 3: Spay them in primer
Step 4: Use wet and dry paper and soapy water make the primer smooth
Step 5: dry them off and clean them using white spirit or de greaser ect
Step 6: spray them using the colour of your car in thin coats
Step 7: After the final coat allow the handles to dry overnight and then put them back on the car.

Its easy mate.

1. remove the door trim panel
2. undo the bolt securing the window rearquide channel to the door and move hte channel aside
3. disconnect the exterior handle control rod at the door lock asseembly by prising the retaining clip collar off the rod and withdraw the rod
4. using a socket and extension bar through the two holes in the door panel , undothe two exterior handle retaining nuts and recover the washers (photo)
5.manipulate the handle as necessary and withdraw it, complete with control rod, from the door
6. refitting is the reverse seqence to removal

I've just done this over the weekend on my saloon. Easy job to do, but they're a lot harder to get back on then they are to get off!
