Green bumper I recognise off a car I saw at PV the other year - has said car been stripped? Nice buy, I'd have loved that bumper on mine if I'd seen it for sale!

Na the car is nud-sr off here he just changed the bumper to a slightly deeper gsi one .

Can't beat a good replacement panel :DIt has saved alot of weight not having the rear lights in there. To be honest no fiberglass panel is great but as its a race car i accept that hey as long as it looks good behind the saftey tape on the course im happy lol

Well its been abit quiet to be honest getting ready for the baby to arrive and build a race car its hard but i will do it lol.so ive got a few days off work to push the nova along .i managed to get it into my hillbilly spray booth . Vec c cables work fine pal I have them in mine .
Ive got them in my own too but just feel if they were few inchs shorter if would sit nicer.have you any pics or links to your own?.

Will you be having a wiper fitted?Hi mate yes it is hardcoated so the wiper doesnt scratch it its not formed like many tell you that you need i spoke to tony at acwplastics about it he said there is no point in it as the nova rubbers will shape it which it has done also his son runs one in his nova and has done for many years so instead of being over priced by certain companys i asked he was the cheapest with most knowledge hes quite happy to talk through things with you pluss i couldntbsay no for £190 plus the vat [emoji41]

I have one in mine (5mm). Mine is Marguard coated and can confirm it doesn’t scratch.
Depending on how fast you will go you might want to put a brace up the middle of it. Mine pushes into the car at about 120mph and then the wiper won’t clear it if wet.

Well what a weekend i got there on the friday full of mixed thoughts and nerves lol having never drove this car in anger .after setting up base camp i hit the hay .
Saturday it was here still lots of butterflies i got the car warmed up and took it down to the paddock to be scrutinered and it passed so it was then waiting for practice 1.
So after run 1 the car was squirming everywhere and i put it down to not being ust to driving with a lsd.
Run 2 was here and it was the same and even my mate said its not correct as he was watching from the sidelines we were baffled as to why it was happening ,then it dawned on me the power steering it has a ajustment knob and guess what it was on maximum sensitivity so after a few twists the steering felt nice and heavy as i like it .
Time for first timed run and brilliant instantly felt better and i beat my original pb by a second i was super happy .
Second timed run this was the one i was feeling good in the car great run then on the final corner my cv snapped bugger!!
So it was a quick drive back home and change the cv ready for sunday.
Sunday came and the car was amazing in practice going really well the timed runs were great and i managed a new pb by another second and got 4th place so all in all it was an awsome first outing

You found with this cable shifter it sometimes tries to go into first and reverse at the same time . Mine works through all gears spot on apart from I cant seem to get it far enough across so that its not trying to get reverse aswell if that makes sense .

Mine works through all gears spot on apart from I cant seem to get it far enough across so that its not trying to get reverse aswell if that makes sense .To be honest i found it akward at first but relised i didnt need to go over so far when shifting as i was its a lovely setup very smooth not had any issues down shifting from 4th to 3rd or 4th to 2nd .i may make up some sort of gate to totaly stop it ever trying to choose reverse.

Do you use scales when you adjust the suspension? Mine is really nicely balanced, I always corner weight it after any adjustments or work.
Just half a turn on a spring seat will upset mine.

After july castle it was on to wiscombe national which was bloody wet and wooly but i managed a time of 45:26 in the wet and my fastest time in the dry is 45:23 so i think im starting to get the feel of the nova now needless to say i was very happy with my times

Sunday at castle was some good racing in our class after the first timed runs we were all in the 29s so it was down to the last run gordon in his tigra who ive been trying to battle with this season had done a time of 29.57 which to be honest i didnt think i could beat . I had been having altonator issues aswell not charging my battery so it would drop power and almost stall then be ok .we tested the alto and turned out it was the rectofier pretty crap as the alto was brand new and only had about 2 hours use . It’s the cutting out of metal (part of the monocoque) between the centres of the wheel hubs that’s more the issue.

To be honest colin im sure we could go around the paddok and find allsorts with other cars .im pretty sure there are a few novas that race done this way . And 1 other thing i thought of wat would happen if the rear quaters had really bad rot in them can you even still get the rear quaters .and to be honest if people do winge ill go in sports libre and put a bike engine in it [emoji48]

To be honest if people moan about them in the class im in for hillclimb then ill get picky about their cars but i cant see it happening in the southwest as we all want to just drive our cars and not pick fault with others or if someone has done something to there car then we all just do the same its funny when you get people who spend thousands on a car and expect to get the results as they think ploughing money in to the car will make them the next brittish champ and one of the cars built by someone with secondhand bits here and there and built in a barn beat them its priceless but they are the picky ones lol

Same in all motorsport mate . Certain drag events that invole people racing in very expensive road going supercars against home made drag cars also get a bit touchy when they realise there cars arnt quite as fast as they thought and like to moan about silly things .
Rear 1/4's on their way to you via TNT . I've left the tail light holes solid so it seals better for you with your dummy tail lights on your tailgate. There was a whole load of fuss at Gurston some years ago about inner wheel arches (especially on Minis), and my Nova got crawled all over by the scrutineers after someone complained about it.
All was well in the end, but people will always moan if you’re going quick enough to beat them. Human nature I guess, sad though it is.

In my series only a handful of cars are built to the book, we are all car guys and we all know what’s right and what’s wrong but nothing really gets said. I think everyone knows that if someone spits their dummy out half of the grid will need disqualifying so we all just get on with it.
Having said that its not a bad idea to quietly take a good look at the cars who’s drivers are most likely to complain.
