having a wrecked nova on his forecourt isnt going to be doing good for his business

M & J has a recovery side to the business, as do I, and it doesn't seem to put off any of my customers and I have stolen/crashed/burnt cars all over the place..1 Nova in the corner won't make a difference.

In response to some previous posts that apparently I dont keep you updated. I do work full time therefore I havent got time to sit in front of the computer all day and night. And on the other hand as this is public I dont want to disclose too much info.

But I rang the garage yesterday to see if I could sort something out but all I got again was unapproachable behaviour and then he hung up!!!

A letter has been sent to VOSA and the police have been informed. Unfortunatly its a waiting game now, therefore I might not get any updates for a while - (sorry to dissapoint some of you)

This is what you needed to do. Keep people informed every so often to say that things are happening behind the scenes but that obviously can't give details as it would ruin the suprise for the garage owner.

This is what I did with Peugoet. I knew Peugeot were looking at my thread on the 206cc forum and they could also see that I was informing people that I was still fighting. The informing people kept the rest of the watchers on my side and increased my support no end because as word spread more and more people stopepd by to see what the outcome would be.

My advice is every few days to just pop on and tell people that things are still progressing but that you will keep coming back to update as and when you can without jepordising your fight :)

If I can beat a monster company like Peugeot then you can win this :thumb:

Just spotted this thread on mg-rover.org and couldn't help but read it all through.

First of all I cant express my commiserations enough for the owner. This is the worst possible situation for anyone who values their car as a possession, rather than simply a mode of transport, to find themselves in.
If anything like this happened to my ZS 180, there would be absolute hell to pay. I'd have taken the next few days off work to ensure all necessary parties are informed (from VOSA to local press) and followed up any communication with the police regularly. The fact he was so threatening is (should) be enough to warrant a police report and court action. Alas, both the police and courts are over stretched and simply cannot be bothered with cases which can be palmed off as civil matters.

As tempting (and satisfying) as it may be to torch his MOT station, he will have insurance in place to ensure it wont effect him as much as you'd like.
Gathering a mob of people and giving him/his staff and good seeing too will also be counter productive. That will result in police action against you and may cost you your car & payout at the very least.

The best thing you can do is ensure he is prosecuted within the confines of the Law. And VOSA. Local press and Watchdog even will add to what is already a shady reputation, and will have a detrimental effect on his business. And as we all know, "nothing hurts more than humiliation and a little money loss".

Do not sit back and wait. Follow up every letter, email & phone call. Make sure you get your point across at every possible opportunity. And certainly do not give up.

Mount un-Pleasent was ace... had my car broken into, nothing taken and nothing really damaged lol
How is the Swansea Institute these days? (I refuse to call it the metro as it wasn't that when I was there (10 years ago arghhh)

One of the locals was telling a mate it all goes round in 3 year cycles. A bunch of cars get broken into or stolen, kids get sent away to juvie for 3 years, rinse, repeat... The uni is brilliant, it's just a shame it's located where it is.

I was in the institute 2000 - 2002 doing the Motorsport course!

I'm here on the Motorsport Engineering course too. Can't compare to what it was like back in the institute days, but I've been here since '09 and it's only gotten better in that time. We started racing an old Formula Renault in the British F4 last year and now it's well in it's 2nd season.

I've no idea. I've not been to any of the FS meetings so don't really know the ins and outs of how/what they're doing.

Another person just joined to give you some support. Breaks my heart to see another older Vauxhall bite the dust. :-(
I found your thread on http://www.cavmk3oc.com and have read the whole thing. Will check back to see how you get on.

Have to agree with those who say make this b*****d's life difficult, but on the side of legal...get the press involved, and anyone else you can think of. But do it passive/agressively. Make yourself a thorn in his side until he coughs up.

I hope you get your compensation for this...and maybe even get your Nova back on the road? It looks mostly bodywork from what I saw of pics? But someone somewhere said about the front suspension? If the tinworm has been kept at bay all this time, it is worth repairing.

Good luck!

I hope you have the car in your possession, I wasn't sure from reading back through these posts, it seems that's your most important piece of evidence in all of this, but at the very least photograph and record every conversation/meeting and I would seriously consider contacting BBC Watchdog while you're at it. You're not just fighting for your own justice here, you're simultaneously trying to ensure that others don't suffer the same fate. Wishing you all the best of success with this.

PNG's new member list must be through the roof haha!

Just to give a bit of advise, i work for an insurance company in Swansea that deals with motor trade policies.

All you need to do is request his insurance details and he legally has to provide them, if he doesnt, report it to the police.

If you want to do a bit of detective work, ring insurance brokers in Swansea, there are only about 5, give his address and they should provide his insurance details and all you need to do is report it to his insurance company under his road risks section.

Ive already checked and he isnt insured through the company I work for.

Your own insurer also should cover it as well as in 99% of policies it states you are covered if your vehicle was in the hands of a motor trader and they will pay you out and recover the costs back from his insurance company.

If you know his vehicle registration though, Pm me the reg number and ill see if i can find out who he will be insured through. Your reg wont appear on the MID but his will and more than likely he will be covered under the trade policy.

Hope that helps!

I hope you take him to the cleaners on this as it shouldn't have been outta the garage, obviously someone thought they could handle this lil car and they couldn't!

Best of luck with it all matey!

Hi all...

It seems that a simularly named company called J&P Motors in Swansea has got mixed up in this. A review has been left on our Google Places page, which is probably as a result of this topic.

https://plus.google.com/107312876001787823628/about?gl=uk&hl=en

If you know the author of the comment, please can you ask them to quickly remove the comment as its very damaging to us as a business.

We are NOT M&J Motors and have no association with them.

If there are other simular reviews on other sites relating to this incident and incorrectly mentioning J&P Motors, could they also be removed ASAP.

Thankyou

Pete

In reply to the above post. If author doe not remove there is a contact for google regarding stuff like this. It might be worth giving them a shot. Some moron has obviously not read about the correct company.

From me & everyone else on here sorry for the inconvenience to you & your company.

Unfortunately Google are useless in this kind of thing...their report page isnt working at the moment and isnt recognising any URLs :(

May be an idea for the OP to add to the first post in the topic that J&P Motors are not associated with M&J Motors too...otherwise my request is going to get buried in a pretty large topic :s

imo i think the whole thread should just be closes. OP clearly cant give 2 ****s in regards to keeping us updated. He'd ask for help and advice but hasnt done anything with it since and kept us updated. Its damaging other companies reputations now and is going no-were.

P4nly, if the poster is on here im sure he'll amend the post for you. but as this thread went viral every other forum decided to jump on the band wagon and may have been posted by someone else on another forum.

Not nice at all for someone like yourself who has nothing to do with it to be mixed up in it

Although this thread has had a mass of viewings, I'd say it would be hard to 100% say who left that comment

Could be someone who hasn't even seen this

Hope you get it removed and your business doesn't suffer

On another note, has anything happened bout the original topic?

Heres another review I just found...

This is getting crazier...Yahoo and Yelp have incorrectly put M&J Motors down at our address.

Incorrect addresses on the directory listings aside, whoever is writing these reviews should sort them out or we're going to have to take this further!!

http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/m-and-j-motors-swansea - their details but our web address

I would get on to those who run those sites chap

As those comments seem to come from other pissed off members of the public not anyone from PNG

Tbh of we put that your company has nothing to do with it in a post then it will just show up on google in the bad thread...

p4nly
14-09-12, 11:38 PM
If the first post said that the incident involves M&J Motors, that would be something (I know the pics show M&J Motors vehicles

...it doesnt at the moment.

Id rather that you make it clear that its not J&P Motors thats involved in all this...on that front page

Any update?

I've just added a comment that clarifies who the OP is referring to.

As for the comments listed on Yell, google etc then there's nothing we can do - however you'd hope that people would realise 'M&J' is different to 'J&P'...!
