View Full Version : Should I be worried?
On eBay there is a 1988 Nova Sr that was stolen/recovered.
The problem is it was about a minute drive from where my nova is...
I know someone had tried that nova before, so the owner said when I tried to buy it.
Should o think about moving mine somewhere for a bit or leave it as it is?
What security do you have on your nova ?
If none get loads on it

Take rotor arm outnot going nowhere then is it.
lol Edd, I have door locks..
At the moment it's just a shell and an engine, but it is running.
They would struggle to drive it with no seats tbh
Just make the engine not run and it will be fine IMO, although I have no idea what the crime levels are like in your area tho

make it not towable mate, they will tow it if they want it
Set fire to it. Nobody would nick a Nova thats on fire. Perfect theft deterrent.
...obviously this makes it a little tough to use and/or work on, but thats a mere niggle.
No more worried than you would be leaving a car anywhere that has, zero security, fisher price locks that even a toddler can open and has one of the highest theft rate of any car of its era, nah you will be fine!
Just do what I did to my garage door at my old place for 5 years after someone tried to pinch the XE, connect it to the mains job done :d

Sadly the time has come to get rid if they've planned nicking it... I've £100 here and I'll take it off your hands Pete.

I leave mine unlocked, although it is behind a locked & padlocked door with an alarm in the garage. If they can get past that, Nova door locks wont stop them!
Saves them knackering up my doors & lock barrels. They would then have the immobilisor plus the remaining anti-theft precautions to figure out instead.

stupid, not at all lethal, once the trip is shorted, no lights or leccy so even easier to nick and just how did you manage to close it????

i think it should be ok if its just a shell and engine
even if you take the front two wheels off and sit it on stands they ll never touch it
if you just make it hard for them they'll find another place to go as thiefs are lazy, if they werent they would just get a joblol :thumb:
