Yep I could notch the front panel, but I didnt want to weaken it as the front end is very heavy with the transfer box etc, also if i go to a bigger turbo next year it will be to alter again.

Main reason is that I hate doing bodywork and it would take ages to do a tidy job..Lol

Hi bud. All the box and engine mounts are moved forward about an inch. The rear mounts are gone. There are plates in the rear floor. Under The seat base for new rear arm mounts.gear linkage on the top of the box was altered. Pivot point was moved towards the back of the block about 1 inch. Inside is cavalier with the pipe modified. Sorry am away so cant get you pics at the min.

Garrett fitted first go at a map. Missing a bit at revs, just needs individual coils I think and an exhaust mod.. Should do over 400 at the next session. Sweet...

Truly impressive build.
Well got the engine stripped today, eight bent exhaust valves, Ooops, might have over revved it. Pistons still ok though..

Longdogcharlie
01-01-14, 07:16 PM
Not over revved, stripped the crank cam belt pulley key. Very luck only to bend 8,

nova_stee
01-01-14, 07:47 PM

Great time! Any more information from the timeslip? How were the 60 feet with the 4x4?

Longdogcharlie
27-03-14, 09:57 AM
I didn't get the slip, there was to much of a que, It was not as good as I would have liked as it just wheel spun all the wheels in first, The Guys on the track would insist on put that liquid down for the front when drive cars to do burnouts, and that just wet my tyres as no burn out required..

istf
27-03-14, 11:28 AM
Did you run with street tyres or they were slicks? Next time you will be closer to the 11s ;)

Longdogcharlie
27-03-14, 11:33 AM
just running road tyres as I use it on the road, it would be nice to get closer to 11 for sure..

Charlie built this one. Simp's is way way way of being finished and nothing like this one.

Longdogcharlie
23-11-14, 05:55 PM
Yeah built this one, will have to see how I get on over the winter for TOTB, I don't want to take it apart and not get it back together in time for next summer, I damaged my hand last month and will struggle with getting it done, It ran 11.6 consistently this year, but should to ten's with the new turbo on, Simps put the thread together when I was a newbie, Thanks to him for that..

jimbob-mcgrew
25-11-14, 01:18 AM

i saw his name in the thread, and my brain went into random skitzo-mode, put 2 and 2 together, and came out with scrambled eggs lol
