what would this engine be like in a nova or would it be pointless:(

Should be quite good. The 1.8 sri engine was 110 horse iirc.

im not sure john might be the same weight or simmilar to an xe?

the 8v is a fair bit lighter, prob not much more than a c16se

and it would use the same mounting stuff as an xe for future reference.

Like mike says, lighter than an xe. Big block so would need big block mounts/shafts etc.

well been offered it for 60 quid for engine and f16cr box plus shafts and other bits and bobs. no management tho so would prob fit 40s/45s

not worth it without the complete injection setup....

it costs the earth to tune a 1.8 as there just aren't the bits left anymore, and try & find a carb spec dizzy set.... the rally/kitcar boys have been snapping them up for ages.....


the f16cr is worth a few bob though.

I once had a mk2 astra sri, I loved it, it revved and revved. It was also faster than my mates 2.0 8v gte. :)

I think iv got an airflow meter and ecu for one of these. All you would have to get is the loom.

i have a 1 mk2 cav dizzy left i sold the other 2 i had. im thinking an inlet for carbs would be hard to find

Same inlet as 2.0...pop up on ebay from time to time. Bike carbs may be an option?!

do you know anything of the car it came from kev?
sold my grans belmont sri still in glasgow area and there cant be many about. was a good few yrs ago but even then still rare.

I'd take it off your hands mate if you don't want to keep it would be handy for my mates astra mk2 Sri as a spare mines runing twin 40s
