I've just bought a digidash, and I have a few questions.

-Firstly I need to know how to change the mileage, it currently reads 61,180. I need it to be 96,244 miles.

-Secondly, Will it go into a mk2 or mk1 dash better?

-The wires coming out of the black and white plugs are only 2" long, however would soldering and heatshrinking more wires on be fine?

Cheers Paul

mk2 easier

why add another piece of wire? you need to cut your original plug off your loom, and using a how to guide (nova-land.com) u need to solder and heatshrink the astra plugs onto the nova loom anyway colour to colour practically....... so why not just do that?

I have never fitted one before, and reading the nova-land guide, great site, it says i need at least 10". Cud i do it wiv jus 2" of astra loom and full loom for nova? I aint got a clue coz i haven't even attempted it yet. Is the gearbox sender meant to cum wiv wires to?

That nova-land site is great, helped me do loads of stuff and my mates.

10 inches is a guide

it dont matta

one bit

so long as once youve made the cable up it will reach the clockset

i think it is more important/critical in a mk1 than a mk2

gearbox sender *shud* have three wires.

or a plug?

if not solder three wires onto the connections.

Its got a black plug, no wires. Don't mean to sound ignorant Mike, but what do you mean get the wires up to the clocks?

Cheers Paul

wires upto the clocks reffering to what?

if its the speed sensor you need to get the three wires from the sender to the back of the dash (through the engine blukhead for instance) or the route where the existing mechanical speedo drive cable goes

if u mean the loom, it needs to be long enough to reach the clocks in situ

Right, here's a more clear explanation, sorry if I was sounding stupid.

I have a digidash, the black and white plugs from the back of the astra digidash only have a few inches of wire, how do i rectify this problem?

The black clip speed sensor that goes into the engine, has no wires coming from it, how do i solve this one?

Hope this is clearer Mike.

Just want to make sure it will actually go in before i start hacking up things in my car.

erm.....it should do..

have you got the right bit?

You need the plug from the geabox on the car the dash came from- which has three wires from it.

The nova one wont work- you need the gearbox sender from the astra.

2" wires are fine, you just replace your dash with the new one and connect them up. I extended the loom of the car by 12" so I could wire my digidash up with it on my lap.

The transponder which fits on the gearbox has one wire that goes to your dash, and as in the diagram the other go to the ecu, if I had a digicam Id take some better pictures that are currently available.
