so thats it really for now i rang the painter yesterday and hes going to come for it the 29th of this month and two weeks later says i should have it back im also sending the bumpers to hin for a change of colour and a repair on the front one cant wait to see it done after what it will cost good bye my cash from work lol:thumb:

just a update i found she as a leaky rad now the bumper as come off so ive ordered a brand new one today bulleyes wanted 90 quid got one for 37 quid much better............my new rads come today so weekend job there if weather stays nice and ive now got hold of a really clean set of SRI clocks and my nova has covered around 88,700 working out what it did since its test and the clocks ive just got read 88,648 so out with the digi and in with them also got another airel for the roof wth a better seal to go on when its been paintedhttp://i653.photobucket.com/albums/uu260/wayneys_sri/Photo003.jpg

wayne who is doing the paint job for you then? im after someone to do mine and would always prefer to use someone who was recommended heyup w88rdy its a bloke who was recommended to me by a mate and his words was it wont be a good job it will be brill job and he said the bloke wont let it go till the finish is perfect.plus he was a painter for vauxhall so many years so im going to hope for the best he also restores v dub campers.hes done many novas so im happy with him doing it and he also knows the colour code for the colour of what the vinly should be so thats a big help with mine lol.is place is at langold not too for from worksop are maltby depending the way you come.hes picking mine up on a trailer so guess he would do that for others too:thumb:

btw i wouldnt of painted my calipers like that you got paint on the disc's and pads :( and is it high tempature paint? If not when it gets hot it will turn to poop :( When you come to changing the pads or/and disks everything will be sticky etc not nice :(

Next time you come to doing them on this or another car take them right off the car so you got them in your hand make sure there free and clean then spray them up :) put it all back together dont forget your copper slip then happy days :)

Checked the latest EPC, all of the rear head rest fittings are NLS with no replacement part (Belmont i.e Mk2 astra fittings). Not sure if there is a more modern model you can get bits from, but they are likely to be black rather than grey.

at the min its all too red as i put the grey boot handle up to the boot and looked lot better as it broke it up. hes fixed the hole i had in the front bumper and both bumpers door handles and boot handle are now in primer and waiting to get a lick of grey paint he says he going to get them done today as well as the grey that wants putting on the car the pics dont show the paint work up too well with been in the garage but hes goin to give it another buff today so will be like glass lol

well its all done and sat back on my drive drove it home today.1st time i drove it for four month loved it!! just got to get mi rims back on as it dont do owt for it on them 13" put all door cards etc back on and mi mudflaps get it taxed and were rollin!! i will up load pics later in week when get chance then do some when its got 16s back on:thumb:

i got them from ebay mate they can cost a bit just for one but went on one day and a bloke was selling is old stock so got both posted for 12 quid.can be 15 for one!!

heres a few pics but the wheels really let it down.the 1st pic is me putting the things back on so i could drive it back home.still got to put all door cards on and waiting for my bonnet badge to come and then get my rims on and a good clean, full of sand inside from sand blasting.

Thats what i do with the sr sumer use only and now its geting garaged the only time it will get wet is when im out and it rains!

just got my seats dropped off and took the headrest tubes out was bit stiff so just rip seat up that got them out lol.

right so just a few things no pics as yet tho.done alot today change my back lights got all my mudflaps back on post man dropped my brandnew bonnet badge off so banged that on then tricky as it were put SRI back on doors and put all the inside back to how it should be and cleaned it to death.and got my dad to put me some rear headrest in lol....tomoz will get a good wax sort a leak on the rad and them put my wheels on then buy a tax disc lol:thumb:

right then today is the day i can say its as good as done apart from wanting to take the digi clocks out and put SRI ones in lol.i gave it its 1st lick of wax and cleaned the red brakes up then followed were the speedlines.also the new rad i had on had a little leak on the copper washer so sorted all that today.so with a big smile i took some pics just got to tax it now but ill wait for the start of the month.had to have a little drive round street tho just to see how it felt

I was also thinking about red undersealing mine again, but with it having the black on the bottom, i dont know if it would look good, because the red insides of the wheelarches would break it up, instead of them being black.

I would never consider replacing my SR's dials with a digital dash, I loved it in my Astra GTE but much prefer the analogue clocks over them in a Nova.

i dont know mate all i know is the guy who painted it worked for vaux and said he knew the colour code for the standard vinyl so i said go for it but as its a textured paint i had it smooth for the bumpers etc.
