Might have the chance of another set local to me but there ET40 7J x 15"
195/45/15 tyres for the maximum clearance but how will they go ?
A wee bit of rubbing ? A lot of rubbing ?
Let me know
Cheers, Vaughan :)
who care they look retro cool:)
7" wide and et40? thet'll rub mate.

I know, I know lol Just want to know how easy they'll fit
id be expecting major rubbing with that offset and width

I thought as much - Front wing lips will be folded flat
Just don't want to do 'much' to the rears but we'll see as I do want them fitted :)
I'll have a bash
is it drums or discs on the rear?
vaughanmc

Drums mate :)
rears whould have to be folded as well imo, is this for your mk 1 ?
rears would look a mess to get them to fit.
how much are you lowerd?
165-50-15 FTW

Well the car isn't lowered by anything yet but I'm hoping to have about 1/2 cm of the tyre in the back arch and the front sitting about on line
Maybe a 50/60mm drop ?
Drums mate :)
can you get them machined down?? 9mm is a big ask but if you get them further inboard you need to watch the strut.

Hmm get the wheels machined down from the back ?
but wont that bring the back of the wheels closer to the shocks?
they wont fit mate, seriously i wouldnt bother.

Going to give them a bash - They've been done before on a Mk1 GTE and a 'GSi' Nova
Hmm get the wheels machined down from the back ?
nope the face of the drums, they must go on somehow as ive seen some with stealths in magazines.
Brett had his offset raised from ET38 to 40, and they seem to fit nicely

There's hope :)
not for your arches lol

lol I'm sure me and an arch rolling device will get on fine
me old sr had golf gti bbs xspokes in a 35mm et and lowered by about 60 odd mm on koni's and it did rub BADLY hence the no fat chicks stickerlol
but with nobody else in the car it was fine, the arches were hammered back flat and on full lock well you didnt get full lock cos the tyres hit the front inner arch but i was 17 on a provi and my first motor

ET38 15's on my old Nova, and the arch mods need - never scrubbed though! I thought it looked "euro" lol...it was 2002.

Might make it out here too - they were quite flared really.

Very flared...lol
That was a Mk1 too...I doubt 2mm would make much difference from the bore.
Remember width comes into it too. I'd say a 7" rim on et40 would certainly rub. Could probably calculate it but at the mo I can't be arsed.
My et38 OZ Exclusives down 50R/60F had minimal scrubbage on fronts and back, but they were 6" wide.
get a 5dr ;) 17s fit with ease then...15s would be eeaaasssyyyy
Will certainly rub and need butchered arches, but hey that's what 90's ill fitting width's and offset's are all about. Keep it real. lol

vaughanmc

Think there would be any more clearance with 195/45's ?
That's what I plan to run with the Stealths...

take the wheels to a machine shop get few mm milled of the mounting face & 45
tyres should be fine
vaughanmc
01-02-10, 06:18 PM
I'll pick them up in the Summer then put some 195/45's on them and see how the fitment is
If that fails I'll get a few MM machined off them - I want them to fit lol
175-50-15 Ftw
i would no way attempt that on the roads round my way.

Neither would I - Stretched looks pants IMO
rubbing or stretched...i know my pick ;)
175 on a 7j isnt that stretched. there is also 185-45, that's not stretched on a 7j.
