i am rebuilding this car for a friend. the car originally belonged to my best mate a good few years ago and he spent thousands on it. the car was imacculate when he had it. body work was the best i had ever seen on a nova. after owning it for a few years he sold to anther one of my friends who run it for a while then put it off the road it has lay in his garage since 2002 so to say the least its not looking like its old self anymore. and as my best mate died 2 years ago i wanted to get the car to put it back to the way it was before. but just dont have the money he wanted for it so this is the next best thing as dont want to see it getting left to rot away even more.

about the car. it is a 1990 1.4sr. running twin webber 40s, 1.6 head from an astra modded to suit, kent cam and pulley, full stainless exhaust system, rev limiter, glass fibre bonnet similar to the manta 400, full koni suspension kit, digi dash. had speedlines but they got sold last year.

i will get the pictures up tonight of how its looking now.

not yet. will get some of it tonight. i just cut the rust outand have plated it on the inside of the chassis leg while it is open. hopfully get it all welded on this side tonight.

hoping its not going to take to long to do the build but i work 6 days a week plus overtime have an 18month old baby and planning a wedding so may take a bit longer than i plan.

thats all the welding at the back end all done. just to underseal it all then move onto the front end. wanting all the welding done before i start the body work. engine and box are coming over either tomorrow or monday.

the weekend saw all the welding complete at the rear of the car, undersealed and the axle bolted up and back on its wheels.
yesterday the engine and box arrived with a few other bits.
tonight i started on the front of the car. it wasnt good. lot more welding to be done.

the windscreen is very easy to break thats way i was just going cut the seal on this to get the windscreen out so i dont break the glass.

tonight got a bit more of the welding done so hopefully this weekend should see it all welded. so al can start doing the body work. am not happy with the engine bay so i will be stripping it down and respraying it to.

couple of pictures of the corsa. i bought it from ebay damaged. i have repaired it resprayed it fitted a 1.6 as the 1.4 died. but the 1.6 needs piston rings i think so its getting a redtop fitted which is in the lying in my garage in bit at the moment.

a few pictures of tonights work. got the passenger door of and sealer removed from along the bottom ready to reseal tomorrow. also finally got the rest of the vinyl off. nightmare of a job. i have stone chipped the sill and around the wheel arch this will be smoothed down so you dont notice its there. hopefully this weekend will see a big chnge in it.

well got the nova engine bay in primer on tuesday night. gave it a coat of spray putty and then primer. tonight just went out for a little while. so stripped out the the sound deadening in the boot as going to have to paint that as well.

yeah i know but not got to nova this week as my mate wrote off his astra gsi so had to help him remove the vxr engine and box and replace the gsi items.

this week am going to get the driverside into primer and possible paint the engine bay. but at the weekend am hoping to go for a new compressor so may wait till i have that so i can try it out before the big paint.

what a difference with the new compressor!! this week so far ave managed to get the rear driver side arch welded up the driver door stripped and removed. and tonight i got the engine bay painted.

It's a local/old skool car to me - I've known about it for years but thought it was scrapped

Would be really sad to see it go down south or over the water

I thought it had a bit of sentimental value.

i cant afford it as am getting married this year and moving house. but just hated the thought of it laying rotten away. so thought if i can do this and bring it back to life and someone else can get it and have some fun out of it and look after it. when paul died i got offered his car it was a 500bhp celica gt4 but i didnt take it. would be to strange driving it. heres a pic of it and paul driving it for its mag feature.

got the sill all welded tonight and stone chipped. also welded up the b post as it had a same crack on it.
