Coolio Well done!
My dad told me to get into a profession that will always be needed e.g. even if the world ends or something. I think yours just about covers that. I however took up psychology lol

nice one, you say raf test, is it to be a fire fighter in the RAF (unsure if they have firefighters in the RAF) or is the raf test a test which normal fire fighters do??

Cheer bud well not to sure. they have all they need for the moment so cant start right away. so just a waiting game now for when they call me. could be anything from 3 months to one year :(

So whats it like as a job then?

Best job in the world, ive been a fireman for 6years and have seen some amazing things. The RAF will be different from civilian firefighting tho. What made you go for the RAF?

a bloke I used to work with was a part time fire man, & it took him ages to get his card. so for weeks, he would ride in the engine in full gear & then go door knocking for a tray of tea whilst the 'real firemen' put it out... it drove him mad.. he wouldn't believe me that firemen occasionally move things from the scene of the fire & place it for safe keeping into a locker on the engine... Cough Cough.... till he got a job lot of cement Ahem Ahem...

Fairplay mate, i've always been interested in the fire service as my dad has been a firefighter for 28 years now, i think it takes a lot of courage and determination and it can be very rewarding knowing you have helped to save peoples lives etc. A firefighter in the RAF sounds like an interesting alternative to being a normal firefighter.

I've applied to be a retained firefighter in my home town, i've passed the written and practical and had an interview on friday so i'm just waiting to hear back now.. it's a long process but worth it in the end!
