This is how she stands as of today,

Inside.

The bay, dont look to clean
http://i10.servimg.com/u/f10/12/30/11/08/pictur13.jpg (http://www.xtreme-motoring.com)
The plans are to strip it out remove as much as possible and see were i stand condition wise and sort out any major problems and afew bits of rust.
My main goal is to have,
Wide kit and be light as possible replace as many body parts with fibreglass or (if i can find the funds) afew carbon parts
Strip it out, if its not needed then its not staying.
Roll cage
Bucket seats,belts
Polycarbonate windows (full set)
16 Inch soft stars or maybe comp mo's in whiteThen start to think about the engine, do i go redtop or c20LET
Im sure along the way il add to my list or change my mind as you do :D
Cheers

Some sort of paint like tar  was done along time ago before i owned it, most of the car is good and the engine bay is worst bit on the hole car but seems fairly clean under all that **** but does need abit of work but all part of the fun.

sorry guys pictures was to big lol re sized and flip a few for people on smaller screens/res, anyway im thinking on using my standard bumpers they fit just as good and less messing about, also thinking about not using the side skirts so really it will look like an sri but with wider wings keep it same colours, white top, black/grey bottom and bumpers.
its gonna look spot on that my man.
Looking really good mate, i'm really liking the rear strut brace and spare wheel well now it's all painted up :thumb: The wheels look really good too.
I'm not sure about the kit yet tbh...I quite like the standard look but once it's all fitted and painted i might change my mind.
BTW the new sills i'm getting are about £18 + VAT each. Just from a company in Bristol called KGC.

just a point on your ally fuel tank, you got one feed and the other is folded over on it's self? i guess this should be a overflow? if so you wanna put it through the floor and a cable tie or hose clip on it, so if for some reason you do roll. You don't fill the car up with fuel! as on your roof it wil be higher then the fuel tank and not leak every where :)
safety first!

just a point on your ally fuel tank, you got one feed and the other is folded over on it's self? i guess this should be a overflow? if so you wanna put it through the floor and a cable tie or hose clip on it, so if for some reason you do roll. You don't fill the car up with fuel! as on your roof it wil be higher then the fuel tank and not leak every where :)
safety first!
if you allready knew this ignore it :)
Its not in and plumbed in fully yet was just to get the car running and swirl pot to plumb in at later date.

cheers i kind of knew about suspension and brakes, i was told the engine/box bolts straight in but i would of just guessed the shafts was the same good job iv asked and looked before i start.
do you happen to know if the anti roll bar and rear axle are same and fit on as i need anti roll bar old one was gone and rear axle looks clean and i know its fine but one on nova was just put on to move, if it does i will just swap the lot.
i dont have any of the nova engine/box brackets/rubbers one was about gone and the other 2 i let go with SRi lump.
im sure the rear axles are wider so wont fit also rear ARB will be longer
as above corsas have wider track so cant use axle or arb on the nova. new shell is lookin good mate.

cheers guys, swapped springs over and put the shocks on so least wont bounce about now lol (had to change top rubbers, was different and wouldn't fit at top, corsa holes are bit bigger than the nova ones) but i will be keeping my eye out for full set of coilovers.
the plans tomorrow was to remove engine and get it in nova but due to needing few little bits and needing some shafts no point.

I have a day to tinker with the car today, as my digi scales still haven't come i decided to go to post office as soon as they opened this morning to get the weight of door, (yes i got some funny looks lol)
they wouldn't use there digi scales but they did prove the scales are right by putting 5x1kg weights on
very slightly over 5kg with some excess to cut out hope that helps

i was told around 11kg,
so i hunted around the house for the cheap luggage scales, i first tried out one of the F/G doors and came bang on what they was at post office so should give an idea
F/G door with luggage scales, just over 5kg (again)

I could save 1/2kg per door by not using white gel coat but then they wouldn't look very pleasing to the eye untill you had them painted.
Saving more weight may end up in the structure being too floopy then i would get complaints ;)

I just used a couple of bolts (socket headed) that were a tiny bit slimmer than the hinge pins, so they could slide in and out more easily.
Then I just secured the 'open' end of the bolt by drilling straight through it and inserting an 'R' clip.
There are some photos somewhere on my thread if the explanation above doesn't make sense!

i have roughly worked out i have saved around 140kg then looked around at an idea how much roll cages weight, from 30kg for bolt in to 40-50kg for full weld in with bars everywhere i would say mines about in middle of both so say 40kg = 100kg ish saved so far ??

i will be honest i am in two minds but worth a try only takes a minute to put back but as i wont be using any lights i was thinking it could fill them gaps a bit better and all in one go, i know the nova purists wont like it but it did turn out better than i expected and the size been near on perfect, the bumper was just hanging on but does look better once lifted up and pushed in getting rid of them gaps and the grill is bent to the same as normal grill.

need to do the wiring, gear linkage and bit of plumbing and see if she starts again

i will be having a play with bumper soon anyway as i will be trimming the bottom of the bumper (behind the splitter) and tow eye so i can lift it up slightly and push it in a little more to get a better fit at sides and get rid of small gap at grill, i will probably do what you said at same time as i was planning the same thing.
Also a corsa vxr intercooler should fit just nicely behind the grill :p

Cheers,
no its not a turbo but as the engine was basically free and i was saving up for a decent 20xe i still have most of that money so i am looking into turbo conversion.
But first it will just be a decent powerbox (apparently the cheap ebay ones are no good for pressure) i can do it the cheaper way on low boost and decompression plate been doing a fair bit of research and there ok (UP TO 200HP) so every one says, i would be happy to be even close to that.

Small update, while taking rest of bits of corsa before it goes to scrap on friday i tried to get a few bits ready for working on nova tomorrow,
corsa internal shifter to try fit, its basically there already just a bit to trim away from old one that was welded in
http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff269/calibra-keith/Picture268.jpg
fuel lines, should be nice and easy job.
http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff269/calibra-keith/Picture275.jpg
then trimmed bits off the bumper and removed bumper irons
http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff269/calibra-keith/Picture272.jpg
then had a pre school moment

http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff269/calibra-keith/Picture274.jpg
bit more trimming to do on bumper, new fittings and tidy up, just need some squares then the car can be educational lol
hopefully tomorrow i should be on with the wires and plumbed in ready to get her started.

am i on the right track on thinking about fitting the corsa wiper motor set up
http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff269/calibra-keith/Picture276.jpg
and also the corsa brake servo and direct pedal set up, other than cutting the hole (i dont mind) anything else to know other than moving the battery ?
http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff269/calibra-keith/Picture277.jpg
and gets rid of the old brackets and long bar save weight
yes/no ?

looks like i will go ahead with servo/pedal then any threads that show this or do you know if i need to change the clutch pedal as well as its fits to the standard nova clutch pedal?
wiper was just to see if i could shrink it down abit free up some space but just slightly out.

Sounds like the scammers are busy replying to 'Wanted' adverts at the minute Keith, see also my thread on Smallblock Turbo engines in 'Mechanical'.
PNG'ers need to be extremely wary if they get approached by people claiming to have the parts they need!! (unless it's me who contacts them of course..........)

Just looked through all of this, it's interesting for sure, few things Ive noticed, is the linkage fix in the car not a quaife style one? if so keep it mate.
Also going back to the Corsa shafts/CV's etc, now as your fitting wide kit can you not use the Corsa bottom arms/steering rack and make some tie rods?
Thus meaning it's got wider track?
Same sort of thing with the Corsa beam, you could possibly adapt it some how? offer it in and do some checks, i would, as if your confidant you could nick the Corsa beam mounts maybe weld them to the nova, and look at doing something for the turret's in the nova, as they would move out surely?
Just a few ideas while im thinking over what ive seen in the thread.
Like it though mate, i'll keep my on it.

not normally a bling engine bay person but can not find where i can get any from, or does any other fit ?
after fitting the R1 carbs the engine bay just lets it all down, the rocker cover is now at powder coating, ordered some stainless rocker cover bolts, got nice shiny strut brace to replace old one but just realized the bloody horrible big yellow oil cap and probably spark plug area will let it down
