27-01-09, 07:18 PM
About a weeks worth then lol.
Todays update.
Ive done about 9 hrs down the lockup today and got some more bits done.
I tidyed up the internal brake line bolted down the batery box and run the cable through the car i did some more bits to the fuel lines.
I also fitted some bling to the engine as i found a full s/s bolt set for the came cover/belt cover.
Once that was done i had ago at getting the dash in as the cage is now in the way.
Needless to say i got it in but it was a pain in the ar5e to fit.
once those bits were done i filled it with/water and brake fluid aswel as fitting a new oil filter.
Im putting off starting it up untill tomorrow as want to check every thing over in the day light before its first start up.
Hope you like and sure there will be a vid up tomorrow fingers crossed.

Whens the maiden voyage then or has she already moved under her own steam?

Ernie
01-02-09, 06:51 PM
she has moved forward a few times but need a hand as setting the linkage on your own is a bit of a pain.I know how to set it but need somebody the hold the gear stick still as useing a rag to wedge it aint working to good lol.
I should hopefully be getting it bolt checked by my mate before he mot's it.
Fingers crossed that it pass's.

Looking tops dude! Are them LED side lights the really chunky ones that are ment to be super bright? i think i know the one's on ebay, was going to get some, but didnt know if they were worth it or not?

Also you know the SR/I dials, can you take the oil/battery one's off? as i have nomal GSi set's but would like the digi read outs,as i have some white/plazma dial fronts to go on (none of my lighs in the dash work) but it's for the SR/I digi bat/oil type without the needles.
If these can be fitted, and bough sepratly i'll do it.

Scott

Ernie
02-02-09, 06:11 PM
They do come out Scott but you would have to work the rest out also they are the big chunky ones from egay.
Todays update.
I battled throught the snow to get to the yard and did a few bits.
Ive sorted the gear linkage out so now has forward and reverse gears yay.
I also sorted out the wiper motor as it would only work at full speed.
One of the wires was loose but all sorted now and working fine.
I also fitted the fire extinguisher just hope i never have to use it.I also fitted the intercom wile i was out there today.

The stick was built for a purpose that it did very well for what it was.
It also donated alot of parts for this one.
The shell is going to live on as a track car as my mate has bought it.
As for the new car i need to get some clear silicon to fill were the wires go through for the pump and bat switch.they have gromits but still have little gaps that need filling.
i will get on with that after the mot tomorrow.

Group text FTW yay...
yep as you all know she past. only had one thig to say and that was to move the oil cooler pipes in a bit as it was touching on full lock.
I bent the bracket in abit and it was fine then.
I done 60 mile in it today around town since it passed then got it stuck in the snow wile trying to get her back into the garage.
Mum turned up with the shogan and towed it up the slope and then put her away for the night.
All i can say is thanks for all that helped with the build and the parts new and old as i couldnt of built it with out you all.
keep an eye on the thread as it will be getting updated throught the year when more bits get done.
Also what an engine as it pulls like a train and the noise !!! OMG i think im in love.
I baited a few things that didnt stand a chanse but this was on the duelly not the little roads as still covered in snow.
