Them Draper hammers are about as good a rubber nail!
MORE we want MORE!
it was only for getting the last few bits of sound proofing off.
i did some more bits on the car today.
i did another coat of paint to the engine bay removed the bottom arm/shocks/tca as well as the hub set up.The reason i did this as this is all being moved over from the stick to this build.I also reomved the quick rack from stick and the brake m/s.
All these bits will be fitted once the paint has dryed.I also got a visit from Chris gsi who helped out by romoving the door cards and the wiper linkage.
Cheers mate.
Pics will be up later as they are on the pc not my laptop.
I would ask for more pics but ive just received a memory stick full of pics from you so im a uber happy chappy lol
But as above lol
just to keep you all happy as asked lol.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/chunny01/JDL%20Project/jdlnovaprodject010.jpg
The quick rack and brake servo from the stick but i dont think ive fit it in the right place lol.

But he also got a pic of me getting ready for MC Donalds cruzzzing.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/chunny01/JDL%20Project/jdlnovaprodject022.jpg
I had to strip bits from the old girl.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/chunny01/JDL%20Project/jdlnovaprodject013.jpg
And splitty gave me a hand till his water bowl froze so we called it a day.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/chunny01/JDL%20Project/jdlnovaprodject016.jpg
And this is how we left it today.

What you doing with the stick shell?
you should see alot of it as olly has offered to take some pic's of it on its maiden voyage on the 21st as should be going on a track day.
Bay looks good for a hammerite jobbie!!! Getting there now
What you doing with the stick shell?
Last thing i knew is that stoo was after it.If not it will go on the bay as a track car stroke rally shell as it will go for loads then lol.
Put "16v, rally, sport, turbo" in the title.
Gauranteed at least a grand for it then.
lol i would have to let stoo know first as he has offered £350 for it as a rolling shell but a grand could tempt me to bung it on the net.
Ive just got home from the lockup as it was -4 and water had started to freeze on the car and me not good.
I put another coat of paint on the engine bay as soon as i got there today and wile that was drying a cleaned up the interea a bit more and started to strip some more bits of stick.
Once the paint had dryed i started to refit some bits back onto the shell.
Time for some pic's.

Looks good, isnt bloody cold out there.. Is that a nova servo? Looks huge.
I want that shell :( Solid as lol
Is the bay just done in normal gloss white? Might do my bay in that when the engine comes out, as hammerites harder wearing that normal spray paint.
its the same as what will be in the post to you tomorrow as missed the post yesterday.

Chris I demand you take that skanky looking servo off, and at least give it a coat of black paint you pikey... makes the shell look hidious already lol
i thought the same but had no black at the lockup it is coming back off tomorrow to be tidyed up.
i forgot to put these pics up.I gave them a quick blow over but nothing to special as living behind a full splash gaurd unpainted for the last 12years or so hasnt hurt it.

Looking good there bud and fair play to you for being out in the cold when its that bad, ive just called any a mad bugger for working on his nova and its only -2 where he is lol
I do have a heater in the lockup but as the gas had started to freeze it was about as much use as a chocolate fire gaurd lol.
Ive been on the car again today.
I got the rear bonnet pins fitted the hole front suspention moved from stick to the new shell.I fit the oil cooler and found the head lights but im in need of a passenger one as mine is knackered.
I also got it back onto the ground today ready to get the back end up into the air so i can paint under neath before attacking the inside.
I also fit the strut brace/feul pump/filter holder(not bolted down yet) and the single wiper.
Once i had done all this it got lowered down onto its wheels (well ollys old ones cheers mate) for the first time.

Looking spot on mate!
You'll have to put up in detail of how to plumb in the swirl pot (Lee did tell me,but that was ages ago) As i will need some refrance for doing mine..
Im appling for jobs,so (everything crossed) i might have some dosh in the future to get on and sort mine out.
Scott
Well i will have to ask him or dar so i can plumb mine in aswell.
I think it goes from the tank to a pump then to the swirl pot then to the filter then the h/p pump then to the engine then from the engine to the swirl pot then to the tank i think.
Not sure which ones you go into and out of on the swirl pot tho.
Good luck with the job hunting.
If you have a 4 way pot, Bottom one is feed to injection rail, next one up is feed from tank, next one up is return from FPR and the top one is return to tank :)

Comming along good tho dude.

Ive got on with the painting today.I also fitted the front and rear bumpers.
Just got to wait for the paint to dry then i can fit the exhaust wireing loome dashboard and seats.

yeah im still alive just, been so busy really id thought it would be done, need abit of help really,im stuck on the ecu need someone to wire it up,plus need to get a few bits for it ie all the sensors, plus got plans with the misses,so its on hold for abit, nice to see some good work going on there mate keep it up:thumb:
No update or pics today as come to a bit of a hold. The reason being is that the engine and gear box are fitted with my new box (f20 instead of a f16) only to now find out the trust bearing is missing a bit anoyed to say the lease as i will now have to split the box and engine to get the clutch out as cant fit the clips to the clutch as i cant get it compressed to get them on.
I did get the rear pollycarb window in and one of the rear side ones in but once i had noticed the prob with the box i gave up and came home.
Happy days.
ps if any body has a spare thrust bearing could they please send it on for free if poss.
If i dont ask i wont get.
Cheers
Chris.
Oops, that'll learn ya wont it lol
Oh dear Chris not good news there, keep up the good work though. :)
ya thanks. As far as i knew it was left on there.
You fitted the box on to the engine without a thrust bearing?
Always annoying when you have to do things twice, but heyho it give you something to do ;)
I will have a gander in my garage tonight, I may have an old thust bearing knocking around.
cheer mate let me know.Give me a call if you find one as may not be on here later.
You fitted the box on to the engine without a thrust bearing?

Once all this was back together and on the floor i got the s/s exhaust fitted from my old car.
The only prob i had was that that was a mrk1 and this is a mrk2.
It wasnt any real trouble it just ment i had to cut a bit out the bumper so it didnt melt it then just bodged up a heat sheild from some stuf i had up the lock up.

I also filled it up with water and antifreeze and put the car back on all 4 wheels for the first time in over a week.

Chris, as a rough guide, both of your topmounts want to lean 'in and back'
So from looking from the front of your car, your drivers one wants to be around 1 o'clock, and your passenger on around 11 o'clock :)
This'll give you minimal negative camber and postive castor :thumb:
Looking good dude, whats going on with the rear wheel? Looks really far out?
I think that is sort of were they are.I will double check tomorrow as only just got home after doing all this on my own today.
I very nearly trapped my hand at on point.Lucky i didnt as nobody in the area till tomorrow lol.
