Havent really thought about doing a project thred but iv'e got all my pictures together so here goes!
First off this is the pic of when i bought it it was pretty much standard, apart from the hidious Bk wheels.

Was an alrite car to be honest but needed my attention and a little bit of money on it.
Didn't really have a lot of money by the time i got it home so i tryed to spend as little as possible but get as much as i could done. Started by de-badging the whole car, added an espace splitter and that was it for now untill i had some money.

Then the cat was rattling so gave it a de-cat from an earlier model, Red euro rear lights, cav cesero wheels, started prepping my corsa wheels and some stamped plates.

Nice and clean - Has it been lowered ?

What rear springs do you have?
It had been lowered 40mm i think alround not sure just gave them away when i fitted the coilys, uploading more pics as we speak....

Hmm I'm not sure if mines is 40mm all round or 60mm all round
Clean car though mate :)
So then i wasn't happy with the ride height so i bought some budget coilovers from ebay, fitted them up and was happy with the end result :)
Whilst doing the coilovers i changed the clutch, it was starting to slip, also swapped the ceseros for some slabs.

What tyres did you put on the Corsa wheels ?
195/45v 15s, Whys that pal?
Good work.
How come you didn't refit the standard bearing plate to the coilover top mount???
Woops that must of been an unfinished pic... come think of it, it was.
Then it was time for a change to the interior, found a doner car Nova Gsi ftw, and fitted the interior into the blue one.

Just wondered what size tyres you used - My Mum's Corsa has those wheels on it and I thought they'd be interesting with 195/45's on them
Interior looks spot on as well :)
Cheers mate, im sure someone will comment on the elec window and window winders, lol wanted the centre console on for now ill just take the elec window switch out and carpet the base of the console.

That looks smart on the Corsa SXI rims, good luck finding some TH Mono's in that size tho, I've been looking for years.

Rears only, Genuine set or the ebay jobbies?
vaughanmc
23-11-08, 02:50 PM
Genuine set - Mk4 Astra ones fit/look the best :)
Astra rear iirc? u think i should get 4 or 2 rears?
vaughanmc
23-11-08, 02:52 PM
4 would be the best bet - Complete the look and also keep more of the spray down on the front
2 on the front works fine but not sure about just 2 on the rear...
vaughanmc
23-11-08, 02:54 PM
You should :)
I have the 4 on mine and it does complete the look and there practical too

IIRC Is that if there is no light seen from the front indicator when you stand looking from the side of the car??
If so it should only applies to late mk1's? as mk2's you can see it, as it wraps round into the wing??
Also must add, your doing a nice job mate, car looks tops, i liked the black Cesaro's my self, And where was it and how much for the HID lights (oh is it bulbs or kit?)
Scott
As above. If you can see the front indicators from the side, it should pass. Mine did.

What i was saying dude is that on Mk1's you can NOT see the front indicator from the side as they DON'T follow round into the wing, so after say 87 you would need side repeaters on a Mk1.
But as a Mk2 has front indicators that DO follow round into the wing and CAN be seen from looking side on to the car, they are not 100% needed for an MOT. :thumb:

Just want to ask if you've ever had problems with the police with those pressed plates.
Both me and a mate want to get them, but the police round here are picky about plates and just want to know if you've had problems yourself?
Dubmeister and other sellers say they are totally legal.
Got mine from Dubmeister, never had any problem (yet, touch wood!) Been on car for over 6 months :thumb:
Recieved my Braided hoses today (cheers macca) Getting them fitted up when the cars back, ill also be fitting my rear window surrounds, and my -80mm rear springs when its back. Which should be near the end of the month :)

Nice one mate, will look good with some frsh paint on it. Im going back to college this year to learn body repair.
Then one day I can give my car a re-spray!! lol
Yea hopefully will, the car dosent look faded at all over these past 16 years, so my dad thinks it shouldn't need a full respray but time will tell, if the color match is poor then ill get a full external respray. :)
Drivers door painted. :)

Fuel cap has been masked and the paint is 2p solid :) Why you ask?
CoolTiger
16-01-09, 10:05 PM
mines getting paint next week or the week after been told to use 2k over waterbased which is what we normally use for that age of car, just wondering if you was told the same :)
Wasnt told anything lol Dads doing all the work, which is better?
2k every time. No point using water base at all.
Ohh good im happy then :) would be happy either way as all this is costing me for the paint only :) No labout or shizzle oh and the panels cost. Over all its about £600 which is all panels and paint. Wings are gettin painted tomoz hopefully.

i reli like the black,s they look pretty darn cool
Keep up the good work Jay :)
Mo's will look sweet against miami blue, although I think the door handles will be too much of one colour, need a bit of contrast imo.
But looking good either way, what colour you doing the bumpers?
Leaving them for now, front bumper is brand new. Mite buy some second hand gsi bumper's and do them either miami blue or grey.

Just rub them down like normal and high build primer them, when you flat them off it will have gone.
High build primer out of a rattle can doesnt get rid of the textured finish btw.
Just got the Mo's today :) Getting them refurbed properley, dads doing them in the bodyshop :)
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e46/jays_nova/S1051396.jpg
Other two are in the back, and there not as bad as pic looks no scuffs so won't need filler. :) Am quite happy with them, ordering brand new centre caps and comp stickers from comp on payday too.
Better pics, pics dont do them any justice at all they look really bad, the blue marks on have not even scuffed them so to speak so will just need a basic rub down and spraying no filler, there all straight and not buckled :)

Nah there going white! After seeing lee's old sr i just wanted them ever since. I know his is breeze blue but you get the idea of what it will look like.
Mo's don't look right unless they're either black or white imo, but tbh they look the dogs in white, good choice mate!
