View Full Version : Rattle from NSF wheel area
I've got a knocking noise (well, more of a rattling/banging noise) coming from the NSF wheel whenever I go over a lump such as kerb or hole, especially when turning to the right, and when I go over a cattle grid it sounds like the wheel is about to fall off lol
It sounds like something is loose, but I've had a good poke around with the car down and jacked up, and everything appears tight and in place - shafts, struts, springs, wheel, tie bar, hub, etc. The wheel is on tight with no excessive play. My dad reckons its the gearbox casing hitting the tie bar...?
Any thoughts?
Is it an F16 or larger 'box? If so did you cut the lug off that is above the passenger-side tie-bar?
If its not the above Check both sides for wheel bearing and loose bolts etc as it could be vibrating along the anti-roll bar (presuming you have one, Check anyway)

^ lol
i guess youve allready upgraded your brakes and ditched the disc shields, they can rattle if the screws are loose or the frames bent.
It's not a pad come loose?
Its an F20 box, will have a look for that lug.
No disc shields on the brakes, and I'm pretty sure the pads are all in tight - no rattles under braking.
Damper, no immigrants in the wheel well - they were all in the engine bay

Aye, does sound like the box hitting the tie bar.
Or strut top mount.
Its an F20 box, will have a look for that lug.
See http://www.corsa-novatuning.nl/uk/PartsA.htm
Near the bottom there's 2 pics of the box, the bottom one shows the lug I'm on about.
