Fitting. You usually need to make some mounts to fit over the corner of the door & screw them or attach them from there.

On the Manta's they were screwed to the upper edge of the door skin. I think a mounting boss is fitted then the mirror slotted over it.

Make a base plate for the corner of the door. Most people do that to be fair.

You laugh but it'll be solid & easy to screw (phwoar) into. So long as its covered or well painted etc then I see no issue.

    Maybe fibreglass over top?

I wont tell anyone either! LOL

i used the standard plastic bolt on bits and plastic welded a flat plate onto the bolt on bit and bolted the mirror to the plate i made was a bit of a task to make but well worth as you utalise the standard mount and seal round the mirror base

as for takin them apart if you point the foot down over on the ball there is a philips screw in the bottom of the hole and you have to poke a screwdriver threw hole in the foot to get to this when loosened releases pressure on the foot and you can pull the foot off as for the rest you best just masking the the ball off and masking around the line near the mirror and the mirror then paint the main piece of the mirror
    hope this helps

Remove the inner blanking plates and trace round them onto thick black plastic or carbon fibre (I used carbonfibre)

Then screw or glue the base plates in and fix the manta 400 mirror mounts to the plates

Then you can slide the mirror onto the mount, fix it on and adjust :D
