tryed to fit my 1.3 fan to 1.6 rad but the fan doesn't fit the inserts at the bottom of the rad. does this cause any problems or do i need the matching fan unit for proper fitting. just don't want to damage the new rad with the fan rubbing.

you need the bigger GTE/GSi fan. I had the same prob with my 1.2 I'm converting to a GSi - the fans much bigger.
Local scrappy will do you one or email colin smith (nova-rally.co.uk) - he did me one for ?30 inc postage to Scotland.
