VV - mine was first registered in Northampton but was first sold by Arlington of Bedford which ironically is now a Merc dealer and about a stone's throw from where one of my best friends now lives.
I bought it from Sandy on the rankest estate I've ever seen. No wonder it's had teething troubles and got rusty wings...!
My old Mk2 was TT - Exeter yet the plates said 'City Motors - Oxford' and it started life as a hire car (the first owners were "Provincial Securities" which was a fake firm given by rental companies!)
Mine was from Jersey, Channel Islands but had to register it here so it's now on a Manchester plate.

The sticker on the windscreen says Spain, but it was registered in London, and I bought it from folkstone

not that i had to look since it was locally bought new by the previous owner, but GV - Ipswich.
