Default Goiko´s Corsa A GT from Spain

    Hi all!

My name is Ander and I´m from the Basque Country, in the north of Spain. I´m new posting here, but not reading the project threads on this great group. As this forum is the main reason I finally bought a Nova (Corsa A really in my country), I thought it would be fair to post some pics of the project.

This car has nothing to do with the projects that can be seen here, but traffic laws are much more strict here and I don´t have so many money and free time as you guys... but well, lets start:

This were the first pics I saw of my future car, as they were posted on a internet add:

It had many faults, but it was rust-free, what I was really looking for. This are the first pics already on my "operating room"

    The 14nv engine:

First of all, I started cleaning the interior and re-doing the wiring harness, as I was going to mount a Digi-dash and a board computer:

And the final result, I hope you like it, although I know that in England you don´t like Mk1 dashes, don´t really know why...

And a few pics of the first time I take it out from the garage, with Astra 15´ alloys

    Some more with a friends´GSI:

And here with the GSI bodykit installed:

And... that´s all folks!! for the moment... Later I´ll upload more pics, now involving an engine swap

    I hope you like it!!

    Cheers from Spain!!

    P.S. sorry for my English

    Thanks Plug!!

    Now, the real project starts!:

First of all, removing all front body pieces, for having proper access

Old engine out! (I´m keeping it for future projects)

An this ugly guy is me :

    Engine bay cleaning:

    And painting:

    More wiring stuff...

    And new location for this:

The engine I have choosen for the Swap is a 20SEH, with F13CR gearbox, which I installed using a Opel Kadett 1.7D flywheel (I think that your "equivalent" is a Vauxhall Astra E 1.7D)

The "presents" that the postman brought me:

    Home made engine stand adapter:

    Auxiliary belt pulley machining:

Admission cleaning, under the watchful eye of my cat

    The final result:

And so on with the whole engine, but I can´t find more pics from the cleaning... if I find them, I will post some...

More to come on the next post...
    Cheers!!

Always like seeing novas from other countries!

nice plans on the seh, you don't see many big block 8v conversions over here anymore!

Yes, it isn´t that common in England to do big block swaps, in Spain the most common swap for a Nova are 20SEH or 20XE...

    More pics!!

Brake servo and pump from a GSI (or GTE), as you will see, the location is quite different as it is left hand drive

Selex suspension set with Apex springs, just a little improvement while I make some money to buy some decent coilovers in the future

    More cleaning!

And finally, the engine is in!

A general view from the "Bunker", we were putting the engine in until late at night...

    And the final result:

    Another present from the postman:

    Installed:

First startup!! (The loud noise is because the exhaust wasn´t fitted yet)

As you will notice, I have put back the standard dash, as I am building a new improved dashboard for the digidash and the board computer, so, for the moment I will keep this one, I quite like the classic shape:

I have also made a custom center console to hold a 52mm gauge ando two switches for the fuel pump and the fan:

    I hope you like it

Hi and welcome, nice project you have there. I rather like how you had the digi dash and the computer in there. Looks cool.

Thank you bazzap8389!! I have followed your carbon Nova project since the beginning, awesome work!!

I haven´t got any pictures from the dash build... For the digi dash I cut out the surrounding a bit until it fitted OK, then I drilled two holes on the bottom of the white plastic of the digi dash, and another two on the dashboard side which is just on the top of the steering column, so I can tighten it with two screws. The worst part is that to take off the digi dash I have to take out the whole dashboard...

To fit the computer, I just take an Astra F center console and cut the computer surrounding at the correct size to fit the radio gap, then glued to the dashboard and then applied body filler putty. finally I painted the whole dash matt black.

I don´t know if you will understand the explanation
