Default It's Boxing day , so the Scalextric is out!!!

So after a year off last year, the Scalextric set has been brought down from the loft (well some of it at least !!)

Got permission to use the lounge and study so here's the lounge , a nice figure of 8 with some narrowing chicanes at strategic locations and a gentle curving bridge....

It goes past the Christmas Tree...

    And round the study...

The cats have never seen Scalextric so they do like chasing around !!!

So the scooby police car had to hide under the bridge...

The cat took a liking to the vintage flags as well - not impressed !

And here's the collection of cars - not all of them work and some of the tyres are hard which gives a great tail happy drive for about 3 corners till you get too sloppy on the throttle !

The F1 and A1 cars are the fastest with the Audi's and Lambo's not far behind!

Have a good festive period to one and all !

Seems most of the new Scalextrix cars are mostly marketed online unless you are in a specialised model shop - rather than a general Toys R Us or Smyths outfit. Scalextric is just not as exciting as blasting zombies or aliens on Call of Destiny VII or whatever the latest console game is!!

I bought my 7 year old lad a scalextric track for Christmas he had never seen or played with 1 before so we had great fun on Boxing Day as well. I wasn't impressed getting my ass kicked by him. Whilst he took it steady round the bends I was trying to go round at full speed it was great fun untill one of the cars flew off the track and hit the tv. We were banned from playing in the living room after that.

My dad found me and my brothers old track in the loft, I was sitting there cleaning the rust off the track until I gave up as the contact on the car was inconsistent so I put the TV on instead.
