    C1, 107, aygo are all very cheap to run, insure and are reliable.

    £20 a year road tax

    Just does he have the sort of money they go for?

    Il forward em onto him. how about a Punto ? i drove a mk2 back from skegvegas for my pissed up mate and it was a bag of ****e, not sure about mk1s though, anyone had or driven a mk1 ?

    volvo 1.6 rear wheel drive the 1.6 are cheaper to insure than the lower engine sizes or a suzuki sj he wont find anything cheaper to insure i can put money on that

    get a pug 306 turbo d s model when lowered they look good are cheap to run insure etc i know you said no diesels but its a seriously good car for your age i had one at 17 and it was 900 tpft compared to 1400 for a 1.1 saxo 5 door pfftt

    The mk1 puntos arnt reliable thou i had a 1.2 sporting and had about 7 gearbox's in it

    He has the money but he doesnt want to wrap it round a gate and blow it all. but doesnt want a **** heap for minimal money either

    Tbh now you will be lucky to get that sort of price, people i know have been looking at 1.1 saxos and are getting quotes of £1900 they are 17 just passed and live in a good postcode

    i had a 306 td myself for my first car, it was 1908 to insure, and that was admittedly without all my mods declared and its even more now for newer drivers so i doubt he will be able to justify it. good cars though and good suggestion.

    Same here mate. I dont understand how insurance works anymore. I live in a village that is more deserted than anywhere i've ever been, drove gutless 1.1s / 1.2s and the newer the car, the more it goes up :s which doesnt make sense to me because surely theyre safer?

    Novas are cheapest for me to insure out of every car iv checked ! (that i actually want to drive)
