In response to some previous posts that apparently I dont keep you updated. I do work full time therefore I havent got time to sit in front of the computer all day and night. And on the other hand as this is public I dont want to disclose too much info.
But I rang the garage yesterday to see if I could sort something out but all I got again was unapproachable behaviour and then he hung up!!!
A letter has been sent to VOSA and the police have been informed. Unfortunatly its a waiting game now, therefore I might not get any updates for a while - (sorry to dissapoint some of you)
Informing the police is pointless. As is ringing the garage.
You need to go to the police with the evidence that they were too incompetent to gather.
I bet the garage owner must be laughing.
Why would he be laughing?? Its a clear cut liability!!
Because it appears to him at this point in time that you have gone away with your tail between your legs. What he has effectively done is crash into you in the street, refuse to give you his details and drive off.
Informing VOSA isnt going to do anything other than MAYBE stop him from doing it to someone else in the future.
I hope the car is back in your possession and not still at that garage.
unfortunately i have to agree, nowadays you get NOTHING by waiting and hoping other people do their jobs. they won't.
you win by being loud, insistent (and annoying) until people give you what you want/need/are entitled to in order to shut you up.
go the the police and get it down on a complaint that he has crashed your car and then threatened you (make a big deal about this), then ring the police, vosa, trading standards, local press daily if you have to until someone cares. also get legal advice and get this sent to him in writing.
i can't think of other things but GET ADVICE and then don't go away, if you wait it will just get forgotten.
Go to citizens advice.
